White Lily Self-Rising Buttermilk White Cornmeal Mix Enriched

Ok, so I cook and bake extensively. All of our meals (for both humans and dogs) are made at home with fresh foods I prepare. I mastered sourdough baking many years (decades) ago before it became popular, but have struggled with cornbread. Yes, cornbread. Should be easy to work with, but it was not for me. I so much wanted to incorporated cornbread items into my baking. So I hunkered down, and after cooking and baking almost every recipe in the late beloved Emily Meggett's cookbook, decided to order the Southern Holy Grail White Lily Flours and Cornmeal Mix. Miss Emily is the one who inspired this San Francisco Bay Area resident. Well, what a game changer! The White Lily Self-Rising Buttermilk White Cornmeal Mix is beyond fabulous and easy to work with. Super soft sifted. Super fresh. The bag comes in a double liner, with an interior parchment paper liner for freshness. I use melted butter instead of shortening, and even for a simple cornbread recipe I get an outcome that is beyond delicious, almost like cornmeal coffee cake. This will forever be a staple in my pantry. Highly recommend!

Only brand I use. Been making cornbread since I was 10 years old, I’m 76 now. Consistent quality. I’ve tried other brands but always return to white lily

I grew up on Southern style white cornbread, not the yellow, sweet, cakey style you find so prevalent today. Our family's favorite brand was the Martha White's Cornmeal mix. Unfortunately white cornmeal mixes are simply unavailable in our local area. This is identical to my taste as the old Martha White and at a better price online. If you like sweet cakey cornbread, this ain't for you. If you like dryer, more corn flavor, soak up your soup beans style of cornbread, here it is..
