Its a wheely king, tons of fun. Would recommend for younger children to get started into the hobby as its durable but pretty slow out of the box, that can be fixed by changing pinion gears or going with a lower turn motor

decent quality, great starter.
I bought this vehicle and just turned it into a rock crawler, so I have had to disassemble it almost entirely. In stock form, it is very mellow compared to some other vehicles like the Savage or Traxxas's Stampede. It will pop wheelies on a fully charged battery, provided the truck has the traction needed to do so. It's just a teeny tiny bit too fast to be driven inside the house, but it is possible at low speeds. Battery life is quite good. Now, onto quality:Out of the box, my truck's shocks have a binding issue that I am still looking into. the shocks have to be forced by hand to compress, but once they are compressed by hand, they'll work as intended. All of the shocks were underfilled with oil, and two of them had so much air in them that the oil was fizzy. Beyond that, the truck was mechanically and electrically sound. The latest revision of this truck has waterproof electronics, and while I haven't driven it through water, I went mudding with it and had no issues. I like the fact that HPI also included extra parts with the truck; I had to make use of them because the crawler conversion kit I bought was missing some parts, but that's a whole other review.Again, in stock form, this truck is very mild, yet capable. Hardcore RC drivers and speed freaks will be let down by this truck, but newbies will appreciate this truck's mild manners, yet be satisfied with it's capabilities. Parents wanting a hobby grade vehicle to let their older kids drive while supervised may want to consider this truck as well. I think kids will be impressed by this vehicle's size and performance. This truck can even be driven indoors at low speeds, so hobbyists wanting a large vehicle that can handle small driving space should check this out, too.

The cheapest of the CHEAP JUNK!!!!!! Breaks ALWAYS. Definitely do not buy for a kid, you are better off saving the $230
Okay, I've had lots of fun with the Wheely King BUT(!), I have spent many MANY hours repairing and replacing and jury-rigging this truck. If I had bought this for a kid, or worse yet, someone else gave it to my kids, I would have thrown it in the garbage long ago. Because that is what it really is. It is VERY cheaply built, the battery it comes with is a cruel joke, the steering broke within the first 3 minutes of driving, the differential gears stripped in the first month..... and on and on and on.....Here is a short and incomplete list of repairs I've made to the WK;Steering servo saverSteering servo gears strippedRear, then front diff. gears strippedbattery replacedspeed control burnt outscrews keep falling outrear hubs rounded off and strippedfront shock brokenboth drive shafts have fallen out repeatedlyIts fun to drive but sweet lord it breaks A LOT!!!!!!!!

4.5 stars: a really nice R/C truck with a few quirks
I really like this truck on first use, and moreover, my 5 year old son loved it! It totally does what it says: it's easy to do wheelies. Maaaaybe almost a tiny bit too easy. The power/acceleration was surprising and it took a little getting used to, to only use half power for driving around and to squeeze fully when trying to run over or jump something. This is for sure an outdoor toy as its speed would have it running into furniture and people all too easily and probably could do some damage. It's fast! The packaging was pleasantly unfussy, too. Honestly, most things you buy these days have like a million layers of tape, cardboard, snap ties, etc. Some christmas toys took 20 minutes to unbox this year. But **this** truck comes in a simple box without any fanfare. Open it up: bam, there's the truck. No ties or tape. There's some cardboard holding it firmly in place, but easily pulled out. Remote, charger, and accessories are easily removed from the cardboard and tape. Unboxing this truck literally took less than 30 seconds. Nice! Some minor quirks/complaints to be aware of (I'll be detailed which seems like pointless nitpicking, but remember I only deducted 0.5 stars for this stuff):1. The instructions are pretty bad. There's a full-color printed book, but it's not matching the controller for this truck, so it wasted my time and confused me to read. There's an black-n-white insert that actually matches my model. Wish I had understood that. "Setup" of this vehicle took me about 30 minutes because I was basically figuring it out myself since the instructions weren't terribly clear.2. This is advertised as "ready to drive". I naively thought that meant the battery would be charged. It was not. This was part of my long setup time, because I initially thought the remote and truck were not pairing correctly, so I was trying to follow bad instructions (see #1) about how to push some setup button with a paper clip, etc. And the battery charge time feels, for a toy, relatively long: 6 hours. Delayed fun and disappointed kid. Oh, and the warnings about "do not overcharge" were concerning. Will I ruin the battery if I forget to unplug it? I've set an alarm on my phone to remind me. I need to find a "smart charger" that auto switches off so I don't have this paranoia.3. Speaking of battery, I wish the 6 hour charging lasted longer. We got about 12-15ish minutes of mostly continuous driving. That was super fun, but I wish it had lasted maybe another 5-10 minutes, given how long the wait will be for that next charge to complete. I will be looking around for a higher capacity battery that maybe gives up 20-30 minutes of play per charge.4. Speaking of battery charger: the one provided is curious to me. They go to the trouble of providing several international (aka non-US) plug adapters, but then the charger is so simple it doesn't even have a light to tell you it's on/charging. Again, I'm going to want to find a better charger, for sure.5. The body is held on with 4 small hairpin clips. I found these difficult/uncomfortable to put on/take off by finger, so I am using needle nose pliers for that. Under the "hood", the on/off switch feels janky and quite difficult to use. Its mount is not solid (it jiggles), and yet the switch itself is very tight. It's also so small that only a finger nail can likely move it on/off. AND it's not really in a place that you can practically get to while the body cover is on. So, you have to go through taking out all 4 pins, removing the body, etc, just to turn the truck on/off. And you'll likely need to do that to plug in the battery for recharging. Seems like a lot of annoying manual work that's unnecessary by design. It could be mounted to reach more easily, and it could be designed to actually work with a finger. Same for how the battery plug wires are organized.6. When the battery ran low after our play, I reached to turn the remote off and go pick up the truck, and with the remote off, the truck ran itself in backwards. Turn remote on, truck stopped. Remote off: runs again. Very weird. Had to turn truck off (with that whole hairpin clips thing!) before I could turn the remote off. Annoying.

I love doing wheelies on motorcycles and this truck does wheelies ...
My first RC truck and what a blast. I love doing wheelies on motorcycles and this truck does wheelies great. It seems rugged and well built. The truck was perfect out of box and I have had no problems at all. The speed is ok, it climbs over obstacles well, jumps good and did I mention that it does wheelies!!! I put a Venom 4000 ma lipo . I drive it 30 minutes before I cant take the Texas heat and I have to go inside. Truck is kickass. Battery is kickass. Installed Banggood sound system. Yep, you guessed it , kickass.
