Q: what is the shelf life?

The cans that I received in April of 2020 say they are good through January of 2022, so just short of 2 years. This would also be based on how long they sat on a shelf somewhere. When we opened this butter it looked like the fat was separated. My husband heated it in the microwave, stirred it up, and put it back in the fridge. Now it looks and tastes like normal butter. I would buy this product again. I think the Navy did a study about shelf life of canned goods and found that most last years beyond the date on the can. We've used soup, tuna, & canned chicken that were at least 5 years beyond the date. I've read that there might be some degradation of color & taste with old canned goods, but haven't found that to be the case with anything except tomato soup which darkens in color, but is still good. We are still eating tomato soup that is dated 2013, or 7 years old.

Q: What's the typical shelf life for this product?

The cans have a "Best before" date two years out. But I researched this prior to buying ant it seems that if you keep them in a cool dry place and keep the cans intact the actual usable life is many years beyond that.
