Beautiful compact Bible the print is actually medium and doesn't cause eye strain like many other compact Bibles. The words of Christ are in red and it has topical headings within the text which is really helpful to locate particular events in scripture when searching, it is also has scriptural references within the text. Overall really happy with it, the external is strong and durable. The actual print is dark but light helping you to read the medium print with ease.

NOT QUITE WHAT I EXPECTEDI'm returning this - when I opened it I noticed that it isn't the usual KJV, different introduction etc. The photos appear to be a matte leather, it's very shiny!DAMAGEDThe covers didn't align properly, the front was fine, the back cover at the top just met the edge of the pages and the bottom of the pages protruded from the cover slightly. I started flicking and found pages inside torn and stuck together.My suspicion is that this was just a faulty book in a batch. However I was unimpressed, and am sending it back.

I stated on the cover large print and the writing is so small .I bough it as a present for some one and he cant use it because the writing is so small it can hardly see the wordsI order large printam very disappointed

It's a Bible the Holy words is always going to be important and treasured, I bought it as a gift for my mom but had to give it to my nephew as it was not large print as I expected! hence the rating.

I love the Bible but its not in large print it's quite small I had to give it to my daughter. It's quite cute with its leather binding with silver on the outside of the pages.

The Font isn't really LARGE. It is a small Bible and the print is bigger than most small Bible fonts. Nice Buy...

I read a review written by another reviewer and I feel that I must clarify and explain a couple of things. This bible was criticized for not having a protective flap as one bible in the description photo shows. This is true, the bible I received has no flap which was not a make or break issue for me. I do think that the description photo should be changed to clarify this to shoppers.This bible has been criticized because the "large print" is small. You must consider that this is a small, compact, bible which will fit in a jacket pocket. It is not only the New Testament; it is a complete bible with both the Old Testament and New Testament. The print is small, but considered large for a compact bible. There are compact bibles with much smaller print than this one. The print is very crisp and clear, the words of Jesus are in red text. I've seen full sized bibles with text that is not nearly as crisp and clear as the text in this bible. I give this one five stars for the print quality, just understand that the "large print" is large print for a compact bible. If you wear glasses to read, you'll still need them to read this.The leather is finished nicely. The color is even, the embossing is crisp and clear. The leather is soft. By the way, it's not thin bonded leather, it's thicker, looks very durable, and has a nice feel. I give five stars for the leather as well.The only negative comment I can make on this bible is that the description photo is a bit misleading. The bible does not have the protective flap, but if you keep searching on Amazon they do sell the same bible with a flap. Aside from a misleading photo, this bible is wonderful. Just don't expect giant print like you would find in a full sized bible.God bless.

I bought 2 compact Bibles to send to my 2 sons who are currently at Marine Basic training. This was the first purchase. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality considering the price and considering its a compact Bible. The cover is soft and supple.. more so than bonded leather usually is. The pages are nice as well. This is far superior to the one I ordered 4 weeks later for his brother. I thought I ordered the same brand, but I was mistaken (both brands started with an H) and regret my mistake. the other brand's cover was stiff and coarse and felt more like plastic than bonded leather and the pages were thinner than tissue paper. The gilding on the OTHER Bible has all the pages stuck together and you can't hardly separate them in order to read it. This Bible was SO much nicer! .. and at only about $3 more, very much worth it.
