If this unit puts out 300 lumens, then I'll eat a bug
As a reviewer once wrote for a different Brinkmann 'spoltlight': "This is a flashlight, and NOT a spotlight". In a few tets I conducted against several other 150-175 lumen flashlights that I have, this '300 lumen' Brinkman couldn't even come close to the 150-175 lumen flashlights in term of light output and range. And its burntime of 3 hours on full power is pathetic for a 6-battery flashlight. Amazon sells a 3 or maybe 4 AA long-range standard size metal flashlight with the same runtine but with far greater light and distance, for under $25. And the Dorcy 160 lumen alkaline c-cell spotlight...though bigger in size...puts out more of a bright spot than this '300 lumen' Brinkmann. As for the movable light heads, they're just a gimmick. You'd think that if you spread the two modules that you'd get a wider beam. But all you get is two individual spots that are half as bright as when they were aligned. I recommend getting a long range flashlight (with a deep parabolic reflector), as a better choise than this Brinkmann...for an alkaline battery-operated 'spotlight'. (Oh, and BTW, the Brinkmann is poorly balnced in you hand with you finger on the trigger. You have to shift your hand position after you turn on its light in order to balance it.) [Follow-up: I compared this spotlight's beam (side-by-side) to a few lithium ion CR123A flashlights that I have. And, while the Brinkmann's 'spot area' was slightly bigger than those flashlights I tested it against,(which are rated around 200 lumens), the lithium ion CR123A battery flashlights gave me greater range and brightness. The only other advantage to the Brinkmann besides a 'slightly' wider spot as compared to those 200 lumen flshlights..is about one-two additional hours of runtime for the Brinkmann.]

Not what was intended for purchase
Be careful if you're purchasing this product as an auto detailing swirl finder. The vendor on Amazon that sold this product claimed that this was the product (supposed to be a Xenon bulb). Turns out this is just another LED flashlight. About the product itself, it's a decent flashlight in a tough casing. Note that this is not rechargeable, it requires AA batteries. The two heads can rotate in opposing directions so I'm sure some of you can find a use for that. The density of the light can also be controlled by a double cycle switch. One click and it's bright, the second click and it dims a bit.

Was a little disappointed when I first got this flashlight because I was replacing a long line of rechargeable Xenons made by Brinkmann. When I opened the box and discovered I had to put AAs in (6) I almost returned it. I have, however, grown to love it. It has features the other Xenons didn't (two lights you can direct independently) and it is much lighter. I happen, because of my work, to have AA batteries that no longer power a camera flash but have enough juice left to drive the Tuff Max. It's balanced in the hand and runs for a long time on semi-depleted AA batteries. I'm going to buy another one.

Wish it would have lasted longer
It worked really well until the first set of batteries died. After changing the batteries, it wouldn't light up. Changed batteries again and still nothing. I was disappointed because of how well it worked when I first used it.

Great Light for the Price
I am an inspector and I bought this light to use in a paint shop environment - it has exceeded all of my expectations in all capacities and I have used it not only for paint shop but for every day inspection jobs. It may be a little bulky, but it helps stand up to the wear and tear I've put it through. If you're looking for an inexpensive, high quality light, this is your best bet.

Don't waste your money!
I use this light strictly to check swirl marks in my car's finish. It actually worked pretty well for this application. But then the top bulb stopped working after only 30 days of ownership. I should have listened to all the negative reviews there's definitely something wrong with either the engineering design or quality of this light. Don't waste your money I'm returning it.

Does the job, but build quality issues.
Used mainly to inspect a black painted car for paint defects during detailing. Does the job, but somewhat flimsy construction - battery door had one of it's plastic ears break off shortly after getting it, so the door now just barely stays shut using the other. Still functional, but annoying. Battery life seems satisfactory.
