Edited 9/3/2019: I just received these but tested one and did a mock installation to see if they'll work for my application. Looks like a perfect solution for the lighting under my overhead peninsula cabinets. They have a solid feel and very sturdy retainer sprigs that center them in a 2-1/4" hole and holds them securely in a 3/16" thick trim panel under the cabinets. The flange is adequate to hide any small splintering that may occur when cutting the hole. They are very low profile so they fit in the trim panel with a 1/4" or so clearance above them to the cabinet bottom. They have a slightly textured finish that will be easy to clean but probably won't show smudges. Brightness and color are very pleasant. So far, I'm impressed.New infoAdded comments: I liked these enough to modify my kitchen lighting plan and installed a total of 16 of these. I pre-wired the kitchen for low voltage accent lighting from a common 12 VDC power supply. I tested them and 100 percent worked out of the box. They give a very pleasant light and positioned at about 20" above the counter and about 12" apart, they light the countertop very nicely. Very good quality and performance, and easy to install.

The media could not be loaded. First of all, this product does come with a remote- I saw a couple reviews stating it did not.I was hesitant when I first received them, as I took one out of the box and tested it by itself and the remote control function was a little iffy. I figured since the holes will already be cut and all it takes is undoing a wire-nut to switch them out, I might as well install them and see how they run connected in a circuit. Check out the video, they are much brighter than I was planning! Which is a good thing. The install was fairly simple, but on two of the lights I had to re-bend the tension springs on the side since putting them into the hole flattened them out. Took a second and they still fit perfectly, no chance of falling out.The install was VERY straightforward- on the back of each puck it states that they have indiscriminating polarity. It’s still a good idea to wire them the same on each puck- the easiest way to do it is to look at each wire after you have separated them. One is plain, the other has grey lines down it. I used the lined one as my “positive” side, no issues.The remote is an awesome feature. Since hooking them all up and testing it in place, I’ve had zero issues with the remote. I like to keep the color temperature warmer since it makes the wood interior of the camper feel more cabinesque, but the cooler color will definitely have its applications! The brightness differential is pretty substantial as well. Full brightness is perfect for my applications, and for night time the low setting is great to limit light pollution through the windows.Side note: I have 4 lights connected to one light switch, and the other two connected to another light switch. It makes no difference to the remote. ALSO the lights remember their previous setting. Turning off the switches, the light will return to the temperature/brightness setting as soon as it is clicked back on.

These are good lights, very bright on high but dimmable to whatever you want, and they change from blue to yellow which is nice for winding down at the end of the day (blue light tells your brain it’s daytime and can make it hard to sleep). For those who have had trouble with the remote, I was able to fix mine by cutting power to the lights, restoring power and using the remote right away to pair it. I ran into trouble after turning off the lights by cutting power rather than with the remote.

This was my first posting - I was excited to get these for my van conversion. Finally got to the point of being able to install them and had them on for approximately one hour. They are super bright and extremely easy to install. Very nice to look at with a brushed silver frame. HOWEVER......These lights got so hot I couldn't touch them without being burned. And one of them that was connected but not installed yet happened to be touching plastic. After about an hour I started smelling something that was burning and discovered that the one not installed had actually melted the plastic it was next to. I have to say - this scared the hello right out of me since I will be living in my van as I travel. I have UNinstalled them and will be throwing them in the garbage since it is past time for returning them. IMHO these lights are a true fire hazard and I would not recommend buying. Just my own opinion.I would now like to add an update to this. Immediately after writing this, I was contacted by the company with a very nice and surprising email. The return window had long closed, so I did not contact them about a refund. However, they reached out to me and offered a full refund, with a discount on future purchases. They also (and this extremely gratifying to hear) they took the information I sent them and have promised to send this to their Technical Team to test voltage and current on these lights. To be perfectly honest, I have NEVER had such a responsive feedback from any other company. I am very highly impressed with this company and urge anyone who has need of any of their products to purchase confidently from this integrity-based company.
