An easy fix for CO2 and soot emissions; but not easy replacement for the average homeowner. I'm an old school type boomer that isn't afraid to deal with a messy task, and I actually researched the task...thank you, Youtube posting pals!So there's also a more simple remedy for the aforementioned signs that maintenance is due; given that it's done before the wick is too far gone: trimming of the wick is possible, to remove carbonized tip residue.This too, should be done by a competent person to determine if there's enough wick left after trimming.Best to order the wick, and then make the decision to trim or replace once you have the heater apart.This wick did the job more than adequately; so I ordered a couple more to have on hand when needed.
