I am a coffee addict. I also have ulcerative colitis and when I experience a "flare up", I need to stop the coffee until I can get back in remission. I miss my coffee and tea is just not an adequate substitute for me. I came across this product and just ordered my second bag. It tastes very much like a strong cup of coffee which doesn't bother me. I do use extra milk (or creamer) than I would a regular cup of coffee to take a little of the edge off. By the way, there are some nice health benefits from roasted chicory root including relieving indigestion and supporting gut health. Just Google it. It is a little bit of an acquired taste so don't give up on it. I was sold by the third or fourth cup.

I really enjoy drinking chicory, and this one has become one of my favorites. The flavor is smooth, mild, and very pleasant, with no bitterness. I've been using this for over 3 years now! When I needed an alternative to coffee, this hit the spot! Smooth and robust flavor profile. It comes ground and works great for French press, drip, or pour over. If you want to use it as a coffee alternative or decaf option in the afternoon, it is hard to tell the difference - especially when using a French Press. For the past year, I have been adding a tablespoon to my regular coffee which I make in a Chemex. I creates a balanced cup with additional benefits! Chicory is a prebiotic - so you are supporting your gut health, lowering inflammation, enhancing your immune function just to name a few benefits! Go with the organic and you won't be disappointed!

This is a nice coffee and even tea substitute since I am needing to stay away from all caffeine right now due to my intercististial cystitis. More than the just the caffeine, I was missing the whole "process" or "behavior" if you will. I was missing my Italian Sweet Cream creamer and holding my warm mug. My decaffeinated coffee (different brands tried) must've had enough caffeine in them that my bladder could detect. Sorry to be so blunt but for those with my condition, you will probably understand why I am writing this. This order only took one day to arrive and I was so very happy when it did. I made a pot of chickory non-coffee right away. It doesn't have the coffee aroma but the flavor was fine with my creamer. I might should add, I was already used to drinking a coffee/chickory blend ever since I visited Louisiana a few years back. So for someone that has never drank any chickory before, they might need to get used to the flavor. I'm not sure. Glad to know there is B6 in drinking chickory!

If you want to get away from the use of coffee this is a good option. In our experience with this it seemed to take less to make a pot. still had a good flavor .

This instant chicory is absolutely delicious! It has a surprisingly wonderful caramel-like aroma and an incredibly smooth, mellow flavor with no bitterness at all. It dissolves completely in hot water without leaving any residue. This is honestly one of the best chicory drinks I’ve ever tried, and I’ll definitely be buying it again. Highly recommend giving it a try!

I've been drinking roasted grain-based beverages for decades and have evolved over time to just plain chicory rather than grain mixes (eg, with barley, rye, etc). This is one of the best instant chicory powders I've tried and am grateful that it is USDA certified organic. I still worry a bit about acrylamides, but being organic makes me think/hope that this chicory is less apt to contain toxic heavy metals.

Had to stop drinking coffee. Heard about chicory and tried this product. Chicory really works as a morning drink. I treat it just like coffee and love the flavor. My first cup was way too strong, but when you learn the proper ratio of chicory to water, it becomes a delicious coffee alternative. I’ve used both the regular and organic versions and they’re both great.

Great alternative to coffee- has a slightly bitter taste.

Excellent product. I cannot drink caffeinated coffee, or decaf coffee. As well, I react when drinking grain substitutes (which contain barley). I brew it as a "pour over" and then add in one or two cardamom pods for extra flavour. Delicious!

Have been purchasing this product for a year or so now and it is great. Takes a little to get use to the taste, but I feel better using it every morning.
