The Ultimate Home Automation Hub for Power Users and Beginners Alike
If you’re serious about home automation and want a system that can handle anything you throw at it, this hub is an absolute must-have. It’s incredibly powerful and versatile, but let me start with a fair warning: to truly unlock its full potential, you’ll need to be somewhat technical. That said, the fantastic online community is a game-changer. They’ve created guides, shared ideas, and answered every question I’ve had, making it possible for anyone with some patience and curiosity to succeed. Now, onto what this device can do. The short answer? If you can dream it, it can do it. Here’s a rundown of some of the endless possibilities:1. Integrate Everything: It works seamlessly with a huge range of devices—Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, and even older protocols like IR with the right integrations. Lights, thermostats, locks, sensors, cameras—you name it, this hub ties them all together into one cohesive ecosystem.2. Advanced Automation: From basic scheduling to highly complex “if-this-then-that” scenarios, the automation options are endless. For example, I’ve set it up so that my outdoor lights turn on at sunset, my thermostat adjusts automatically based on motion detection, and even my coffee maker starts brewing as soon as I disarm the alarm in the morning.3. Local Control: Unlike many other systems, this hub focuses on local processing, which means faster response times and greater reliability. Plus, you don’t have to rely on cloud services, giving you added security and control over your devices.4. Custom Dashboards: The ability to create personalized dashboards is amazing. I’ve set up a central touchscreen in my kitchen where I can control everything in my house at a glance, from lights to cameras to sensors. It’s super convenient and looks pretty cool too!5. Energy Savings: With smart automation, I’ve been able to optimize energy usage. For instance, lights and fans turn off automatically when no one is in a room, and the thermostat adjusts when doors or windows are open.6. Enhanced Security: I’ve integrated it with door locks, motion sensors, and cameras to create a comprehensive security system. I get instant notifications if anything unusual happens, and I can automate actions like turning on lights and sounding alarms if a door is opened unexpectedly at night.7. Endless Customization: This is where the real power lies. You can write custom rules, create virtual devices, and even use third-party apps and integrations to expand its capabilities. Whether it’s voice control with Alexa or Google Assistant, integrating with other platforms like HomeKit, or creating your own scripts, the sky’s the limit. While the setup can be a bit overwhelming at first, the online community and support resources make it manageable. If you’re willing to put in the effort, this hub will reward you with a home automation experience that’s second to none.Bottom line: Whether you’re a power user who loves tinkering or a beginner looking for a robust system that can grow with your needs, this device is an incredible investment. It’s fast, reliable, and capable of things I didn’t even think were possible before. If you’re ready to take full control of your smart home, this is the hub to get!

Nice upgrade.
I upgrade from a Hubitat C7 to this C8 Pro. I am very pleased with the faster response and longer range. I and been able to remove a few repeaters with this upgrade. Migration from old to new was a little flaky. It wouldn’t migrate Z-Wave devices withe the first few attempts. Then suddenly it did. That was probably me and not the migration process. The size is the same as the C7 so it fits the wall mount I have. For me, the improvements were worth the price of the upgrade. Faster speed and better control of remote devices.

Underwhelmed, frustrated, waste of money.
Ok so my new house came with some Z-wave devices. 3x Honeywell thermostats and Schlage Z-wave door lock. So I got this Z-wave hub. Ok, so the Honeywell thermostats paired ok (it took a bit to get 1 of them to pair but I got them all there. Here's the thing, the hub only seems to support basic functionality, and my Schlage, well that thing just won't pair no matter what. This is a giant hassle. It's so much easier to dump this crap and replace with Wi-Fi devices that interface with their own dedicated apps that work and support the full functionality of the devices.

Better than expected
I have been using Apple HomeKit to manage all my smart devices and was looking for a hub that would work with HomeKit to let me manage and automate non HomeKit devices with HomeKit.After watching a bunch of YouTube videos and reading many reviews I decided to give this a shot.Installation and setup is very simple since there are very good videos and written instructions available through Hubitat. Hubitat provides official documentation which is very straightforward. There is also a support community that you can get answers to seemingly any question you may have. I searched through the database and was able to find out how to automate and integrate a couple of devices I currently have that don’t work with HomeKit out of the box.I have WAC smart ceiling fans that work with the WAC mobile app but don’t work with HomeKit. I was surprised to find that there was a way to integrate my WAC fans with HomeKit. Now I can use Siri and HomeKit automations to control the fan and light.I also have YoLink water leak sensors and a valve controller that work via LoRa. The reason I use YoLink is because it doesn’t require WiFi or the internet/cloud to communicate between the valve and the sensors. It’s all battery powered so that if a leak is detected the leak sensor will automatically tell the valve to close, which shuts off the water immediately. With the YoLink integration I now have visibility to the status of each sensor and valve and can control the valve via HomeKit.I’m very happy with what I’ve been able to do with Hubitat. However I would caution those that are thinking about buying this hub to make sure you are willing to invest the time to learn how to use Hubitat. You will be able to take advantage of all sorts of user community created content but some automations require a certain level of programming or technical know how.I’m looking forward to being able to buy other non HomeKit devices and integrating them to HomeKit via Hubitat.
