Mountain Falls 10% Povidone Iodine Solution First Aid Antiseptic for Minor Burns, Cuts, and Scrapes, Compare to Betadine, 8 Fluid Ounce

It has become next to impossible to find 10% iodine. We farm and ranch. Use it for human accidents and also on the cattle and horses when need be. Have been told that you can rarely find the 10%iodine in small amounts, because bad people are using it to make meth. It is great for cuts, abrasions, hoof root on cattle. Just a good all around antiseptic to have on hand. Had a big gal jug of it for years and years and this was the first I found on line. Can not even get the 10% at Tractor Supply.

This is a large bottle and very cost effective. I'm not sure I'm loving this though. It's been ages since I've used iodine for a cut or scrape and I don't even know anyone who currently uses this. The thing I don't love about this is that it's just so red. I know that's the natural look of iodine, but I don't like being covered in red. To me, using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide is a better choice.

I had almost forgotten about the use of iodine for minor cuts and scrapes, I usually just put something like Neosporin on. This is cost effective and works well, it stays on longer then the creams and although it does leave a dark mark on the skin I can see where I put it and make sure I put it in the right spots. This is good for emergency kits and for keeping on hand to use on the kids.

What is there to say? It is Betadine. Keep it around for cleaning and disinfecting cuts and boo boos on everyone from the grandkids to the pets. Got this at a really great price as an ADD ON ITEM.

I used it to treat some places on my l legs and as always it healed them up.

Arrived intact and will work to sterilize the skin around a wound so I can suture it.

It's been a long time since I've used iodine. While it's not as tidy (e.g., it can stain) or easy to use as creams such as Neosporin, from what I've read it's more effective at killing a wider range of pathogens to prevent infection. As I get older I'm finding I'm more susceptible to infections from cuts, so the more effective nature of iodine more than offsets the small decrease in convenience and the more visible nature of an iodine-treated wound.The only complaint I have is with the bottle. The cap is not an ideal way to provide a measured amount of iodine. But, given the price, it remains a very good value.
