I love this product!
So easy and fast. A friend told me about it. I use Henna, for 2 years. That is good, but take a long time to do it. It seems hour less

Tampered product
I love this hair color. It has discontinued at stores. They now have a new box and new formula that doesn’t work. I thought ordering the old formula from amazon would be a good idea. Too bad the box of color was opened. By opened, I mean the seal was cut. The bottles inside were loose in the delivery envelope. First I thought perhaps it was due to shipping but upon a closer look, the product seal was cut! Who knows what’s inside the bottles. It had been tampered with! I tossed it and won’t be ordering again.

These color my hair better than the ammonia based permanent products do. I will keep using Natural Instincts.

Color lasted TOO long, but was pretty & non-damaging
My daughter wanted to dress as Laura Ingalls for Halloween last fall. Being a natural blonde, she begged to be allowed to dye her hair brown, and after a bit of research we settled on Clairol Natural Instincts as the gentlest non-permanent color for her hair.I must admit, after years of coloring my mother-in-law's hair I was quite impressed with the smell. While it wasn't exactly a pleasant smell, it was ANYTHING but the overpowering chemical smell I've endured with other brands... and what little bit of odor there was washed out with the initial rinse. The color went on well, and was thick enough that we had no goopy drips on her neck or ears. When we rinsed her hair out, it was actually softer & felt better-conditioned than her hair had been initially - and STAYED softer & more manageable for about a full month! While I followed the instructions exactly and did do a color-test to begin with, when applied to her entire head the color was not quite what we had been expecting - we were trying to dye medium-blonde hair, to a medium-dark brown. What we got was a beautiful shade of medium chestnut with VERY red highlights, but my daughter was quite ecstatic with her new "red" hair so all was well even though this was not anything at all like the color indicated on the package.I am writing this however, to let other blondes know how long-lasting this color has been. While we were careful to choose a non-permanent color my daughter's hair is STILL a light reddish brown color. It has now been six months since we colored her hair, and while it has lightened quite a bit, it has NOT washed out as it said it would. After calling a salon we will be trying "Color Oops" to see if we can return her hair to its original color.I truly have mixed feelings about this product. While I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who wants a nice, gentle color for their hair and isn't terribly picky about the color they end up with, I would NOT recommend this if you want a color "just like the one on the box" or if you are looking for something that will wash out again. While I would use this again to cover my mother-in-law's grey hair in a heartbeat... I will not be using this on myself or my daughter again, as it is altogether too permanent for us!

Nice color, and it's even improved!
Clairol has repackaged these, and now you get a color refresher to use two weeks later--a tinted gel that really works. I've been using this color for years, ever since I bought another brand's "permanent" color that fried my hair! These "temporary" colors are gentler because they don't strip the hair or penetrate it the way "permanent" ones do. These don't have to grow out; they gradually wash out. If you keep using this it may last longer than a month after a while, and you'll only have to color the faded parts. Frequent shampoos and summer sun can make it fade a little faster. You still have to be careful about what it gets on when you're applying and rinsing it off, though. The sooner you get it off your skin-- and any hard surfaces like the sink and counter--the better, of course. Maybe other people aren't as messy, but I always find a few unexpected spots on me or the bathroom! It's good to apply conditioner around your hairline first, to keep the color off your skin.

Even Boyfriend Noticed!
I have been coloring my hair for about a year now with lots of different but similar shades, and this is the only time my boyfriend ever noticed. He loved it from the moment it dried right after coloring it. It's not brassy at all even though my hair tends to pick up copper/reddish tones from almost any coloring. It's dark but not anywhere near black.I love using Natural Instincts hair coloring. I initially fell in love with the Navajo Bronze shade, but I've tried a couple of other brunette shades. Natural Instincts doesn't have a strong smell, and you only need to keep it on for 1o minutes. It doesn't damage my hair, and the weekly conditioning treatment is lovely.
