I paired these file totes with a Better Homes & Gardens storage cubby unit from WM. Perfect fit! I like that these totes assemble in seconds, and have a little plastic clippy bar thing for the top edges of the tote, so that you're hanging file folders slide easily, and stay upright. I'll definitely use more of these totes in other offices I'm redecorating.

One of my favorite things about this file box is its color and how well the folders slide along the plastic edges provided by the seller. It comes folded up with an insert that goes in the box's bottom to keep it from folding in and after you put this in and put the plastic guides along the sides, then it is ready to be used. It holds letter sized hanging folders easily and if it were not for the following, the box would be perfect.This box has a lid and while the hanging folders are in the box, the lid cannot be closed completely. So if you were looking to use the lid of this box to keep your files out of sight, it probably will not work. Another thing that I did not like is that this box has a bit of a smell. The only way that I can describe it is a kind of salty chemical odor. I have been airing out this box for almost a month and it is still there. It doesn’t smell up the house or anything, but if you have a sensitivity to smells or odors, then this might be an issue.I hope they make this box with a lid that is more functional, also not having the smell there would be nice. There are hanging folders out there that are for boxes with lids, but I have not seen them in years, so the average person will probably use these with what is already being sold. I give this box four stars. It is cute, and it holds files, just not in the most complete way. So, if you want something on your desk to use as a hanging file holder, this will work for you if you don’t mind the smell. But if you want to hide your files within this box by using the lid, then you will not be able to do this because the folders sit on the outer edge of the box, and the tabs on the folders prevent the box from closing. So, four stars, this product can be improved upon.

I was very surprised as what good product this is for the money.

I'm not sure this would be good for long-term filing use or if you access your files frequently, but it's good for short term file storage.

I've become a bit obsessed with organization / storage boxes and have assembled a sizeable collection over the past several months. I have boxes that fit every slot of the functional spectrum: from poor quality to average ok to exceptional. This box, for me, fits into the latter of those categories.Some boxes are designed with a solid sturdy piece on the front and back, but only a (often times) flimsy fabric on the sides. I try to stay away from that type of box, as the fabric lessens its structural efficacy and limits you as far as storage uses.This box has that type of design BUT, it has a design element I've never seen before in this type of box. It comes with two hard plastic frame pieces, I guess you'd call them? They fit / slide right onto the upper rim of each side (left and right) and voila! Suddenly, you have a box that just upped its stability by a considerable amount. It's such a simple thing, but what a difference it makes!The lid is a fold over flap that secures with a Velcro closure. There's also a clear label sleeve on the front, though no blank label inserts come with it (surprisingly.) Finally, on an aesthetic level, I absolutely LOVE the color of this box and I'm not one who's a big a fan of pastel colors. But I find this lavender shade particularly pretty. It's a nice departure from the usual gray or black you normally get.Overall, I find this box to be well-designed and sturdy with the bonus of being beautiful to look at. I would recommend it.

I opened and unfolded this file box. I had to push the sides in just a bit, in order to get hanging files to hang on it. Then I thought it was going to work. But, after placing regular files IN those hanging folders, the lid could not shut properly. The measurements of this box are as if you were only going to have the hanging file folders in it; that's all. In that case, the lid would have shut. But regular file folders (the ones that go inside of hanging file folders) have TABS. The designers of this box did not allow room for the file tabs, which naturally stick up about another inch above the tops of the hanging folders!

The price is very reasonable for these two file boxes. I love that they each have a cover (held shut with a Velcro-like tab) to keep out dust and to keep the file names private, or to contain a bunch of stuff you want to quickly clear off your desktop or table. If you don't over-pack them with heavy things you can stack them. I've filled one with greeting cards and articles that I've saved as mementos, as well as a box of candy that I'm hiding from candy thieves who live here too. :) They are super easy to assemble. Looks so much better than having the files out on your desk or even in a step-type desktop organizer like I used to. Easy to find the files. The only downside is that the bottom is a fabric/cardboard that seems like it could bust open if you carried a full and heavy box around with you. These are great, too, for office supplies, or in a closet or toy room. They look great.
