This works a treat! I decided against one of the more expensive brands of composter and gambled on this cheaper one and I'm so glad that I did. We fill it every 2/3 days with veg peelings and after running for around 5 hours we have some dry flaky 'stuff' that we throw on our outdoor potted plants. I wouldn't call it compost but it's better than sending our food waste to landfill, and we don't have a smelly kitchen bin any more. It is very quiet when running and you can't smell a thing. When completed it has a nice warm, earthy smell inside.

Stopped working after a few months. The lights were defective from the very beginning. We often had a tangled mess when trying to compost items...bananas and some other fruit/veg needed to be cut up small for successful grinding. Earlier this week, the screw at the bottom of the removable pot, that connects to the rotation mechanism, seems to have come off so it no longer works. And you can't buy a pot separately. Ho hum. A waste of £200.

Edit: I spoke too soon! It stopped working about 4 weeks later. The machine stopped heating up so basically created a mulch that was horrid. Returned and refunded by Amazon. Have reordered again. Will try with this again as the machine is good and the concept is great and the compost is easily distributed Having had this a month or so now I can highly recommend it. Pros- no more smelly bin attracting vermin and maggots while you wait for the collections. It breaks the food down to about 20% of the original size. Powdery dust that can be tipped directly onto the soil in the garden Smell: yes it can smell whilst it goes through its cycle but it’s no worse than a lingering cooking smell. Fortunately I’ve got mine in the covered seating area of my my garden so it gets turned on before bedtime and is finished when I wake up. No smell!

Nutrichef 3L Electric Kitchen Composter – Great When It Works, But Reliability Is a Serious Concern I have now owned the Nutrichef 3L Electric Kitchen Composter for around a year, and unfortunately my experience has been extremely mixed. When it works, it is actually a great kitchen composter. It is convenient, easy to use and does a very good job of reducing food waste. However, the reliability of the unit I have experienced is simply not good enough. In the space of approximately three months, I had three units involved in replacements. The first one arrived and was completely non-functional straight out of the box. Amazon replaced it, but unfortunately, only about a week after receiving the replacement, the heating element failed. As this was still within Amazon's one-month return period, I contacted them again and the unit was replaced for a third one. Interestingly, Amazon sent the replacement but, for some reason, never charged me for it. I'm certainly not complaining about that! The third unit was considerably better. It has lasted approximately nine months and, during that time, has worked brilliantly. Unfortunately, the same problem has now occurred again: the heating element has failed. The frustrating part is that because of the way the replacement was originally supplied, I am now in a position where I cannot get the current unit repaired under warranty. So, after finally having a unit that worked reliably for nine months, I am left with another unusable composter. I have also looked at reviews on various websites, not just Amazon, and have found hundreds of reports from other customers experiencing the same or very similar heating-element failure. That makes me question whether this is an isolated problem or a potential design/reliability issue with the product. To be fair, when it works, it is excellent. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and I have been very happy with its performance. Unfortunately, having three failures in less than a year is simply not acceptable for a product that isn't exactly cheap. Overall If you are considering buying one, just be aware of the potential reliability problems. You may get a good unit that works perfectly, but based on my experience and the number of similar reports I have found from other customers, the heating element appears to be a significant weakness. When it works: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliability: 1/5 ⭐ Overall: 2/5 ⭐⭐ Would I buy another one? Unfortunately, no. It's a shame because the product itself is genuinely very good when it is working, but three failures in less than a year is far too many.

I decided to buy this composter after seeing it in my friend’s house and being really impressed with how compact and convenient it was. After using it for couple a days, I’m genuinely pleased with the purchase. It fits perfectly on my countertop, and the grey colour matches my kitchen units so well that it almost looks like it was made to be part of the set. The machine itself is easy to use, surprisingly quiet, and does a great job breaking down food scraps. I'm loving this machine so far. It's been in use for around a month. There have been no issues. It does what it claims to do and at a competitive price, given the competition. It takes its time (around 4 hours). I hope it lasts.

Kaufdatum= 8. Juli 2025. Bis Heute hat das Gerät so seinen Dienst erfüllt mal gut und mal nicht so gut. Seit ein paar Tagen geht leider überhaupt nichts mehr, das Gerät piept unaufhörlich sogar nachdem der Stecker rausgezogen wurde ca. 1 Minute. Ich habe alles probiert auch einen reset über die Tasten im Display die eigentlich ein totaler Mist sind. Preis/Leistung = sehr schlecht

Funziona bene, l'unico problema che ho riscontrato é che avendo i pulsanti touch capita di sfiorarli per sbaglio e si accende, avrei preferito i vecchi pulsanti a clic.

This is the second composter that I have bought. The first was from a different manufacturer but served me well for seven years with almost daily use. This one makes equally good compost. It’s probably only truly environmentally friendly if you have Solar Panels though

It's brilliant very happy with it there is no mess it's clean and great for plants would recommend it 😀
