Great training guide
I ordered this book looking for something new to do. Iโve always wanted to be a marine however Iโm medically DQed but Iโm using this book to help me get in better shape for a law enforcement career. If you want some serious workouts/training I recommend this book to you.

Buy this book.
I graduated from OCS in March of last year and The Basic School back in September as well. I finished top 5% at TBS and got career designated. A lot of that was due to Marine Raider Prep helping me to get ready physically as that is a large part of our grading criteria. After getting about two weeks of physical rest and recovery after OCS and going into TBS I recovered beautifully and ran an 18:57 sitting at 210lbs and absolutely crushing the CFT with a 2:10 880m and a 1:45 movement under fire. The track and swim work in the program got my CO2 buffering and recovery ability to be able to do all of that. Growing up I was always the slow dude especially in college running a 15:50 army 2-miler for my best time at one point... I cannot thank the authors enough, I truly would have been going into training and programming blindly if it werenโt for them and this program.

WORTH THE BUY!
Im currently active duty for the Marine corps out of camp pendleton, CA. This book is fantastic and gives sources to help you along the way. I highly encourage if you are considering to buy this raider prep, Dont hesitate. This raider prep will challenge you and push you to get where you need to go. Whether you are doing this just for the PT, or you are trying to actually go to A&S and pass. I can say this will help a boat load.

Good program but not practical
The programming is excellent, but some of these sessions are not practical unless you have tons of equipment yourself. A workout could call for 3 rounds of Arnold press, face pulls, and a farmer's carry (this being one round), but the problem with this is even in a gym this would be very difficult. First, you have to find a bench for the press, get up, find an open area to set up face pulls, farmers carry and then hope that you still have a bench open for the Arnold presses again. There are several other examples of workouts that require rapid equipment swapping and would result in you running around your gym hoping that equipment is available. Another example is dumbbell deadlift to glute drive to close grip bench to cuban press. There was no way, in my gym or any gym that I have ever been to, that I would be able to complete this without 5-minute pauses between certain exercises while waiting for something to open up. I was expecting primarily calisthenics and rucking/swimming but this not it at all

This program is keeping me in better shape than the programs I currently use
I'm currently active Army. This program is keeping me in better shape than the programs I currently use. I also find that this program is very interesting and challenging. Anyone in any branch of DOD can benefit from this workout if your prepping for the next level.

This is a well constructed and highly effective training program ...
This is a well constructed and highly effective training program written by 2 veterans who have been through it! It includes more than just what you need to do - there is instruction on sleep, recovery, and diet as well. Nick and Josh (the authors) will also answer any questions you have along the way. They truly want to see you succeed and help quality candidates pass selection!

Pretty basic stuff
The information is good, but the writing is unpolished at best. Pretty disappointed with the lack of appendix, and the use of abbreviations without explain action of meaning. There are much better programs to use. This book is worth $10, not $65
