ESSENTIAL GUIDE FOR SOUTHAFRICA. You have all the information you need (and more!) about Southafrica. A great buy. Footprint and Lonely Planet are the best (I bought both for my trip, I organized my own trip with a 4x4).

I bought this book to accompany me on my 3-month trip to South Africa. The book packs in a lot of information, and I didn't come accross anything that seemed out-of-date or no longer existing. Cape Town is covered extremely well and I used many of the recommendations for restaurants (it's imperative that you visit Mama Africa, but definitely make sure you book in advance), backpackers and tourist attrcations.I valued the travel information section, which provides accurate details on how to get around and advice on local customs.Other cities seemed well covered too and the maps at the back were invaluable. Kruger National Park is also covered in some depth and is useful when visiting this attraction.

Seit ich 1999 auf einer Reise mit dem Lonely Planet in Kontakt kam, habe ich ca. 30 dieser Bücher gekauft und bin nahezu immer hervorragend informiert worden.Diese Reisebücher sind für Individualreisen nahezu unverzichtbar, es sei denn man kennt Leute vor Ort oder hat ein Jahr Zeit.Für mich ist der Lonely Planet eine unverzichtbare Quelle an Informationen. Die guten Beschreibungen von Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten, die vielen Karten, die unzähligen Insiderinfos u.s.w. sind enorm nützlich.

Just like the rest of the Lonely Planet tour guide books - it's awesome! Everything is the same in this book as the others, except it's about South Africa. So, if you liked their other tour guide books, as I do very much, you'll like this one too. Check it out!
