Outstanding Account!
Well-written account of one of RAF's real characters! Dimsie's story takes us from childhood, through flying training, the beginnings of battle in France, and on to WWII, the Battle of Britain, Malta, the Near and Far East! Also interesting are his post-war adventures in Africa! Great story!

Not Just For Pilots
This book is a different insight into the disaster that was Dunkirk. No honest opinion is spared as in other books where the cowardice and poor discipline of some combatants has been swept aside. This book tells it like it was without abridging the unpleasant social aspects of the conflict. Interspersed with moments of laugh out loud hilarity as a teenager grows into a man and goes on to fight in the battle of Britain and beyond.Very good value and a good read for those who like to understand the feelings and motivations of others in times of stress and fear.I recommend it.
