Better Than Bouillon, No Chicken Base, Vegan Certified 8 oz.

Long-time vegetarian here. This gives the depth of flavor and unctuousness that was missing from some dishes. It's a little pricey but I won't be without it now.

I use all Better Than Bullion products as a base for soups, stews, chili, etc. as well as for an umami boost. Better Than Bullion products, including the Not Chicken product, has a much fresher taste and are seasoned better than anything that comes in a box. As an added bonus, you can make them as weak or as strong as you want and as salty as you want. That kind of control is invaluable when you are trying to get your food to taste just right. Just dissolve is hot water and you have first rate stock. Forget the Use By date. This stuff lasts forever in your refrigerator. One caveat: if you are adding some Better Than Bullion to a soup or stew already made, ladle out some liquid into a small bowl; then add the Better Than Bullion to the bowl and whisk until it dissolves completely. Then pour the contents of the bowl back into your soup or stew. If you don't you might get some undissolved clumps. I will never use a cube or a box again.

Great product, full of flavor, but Amazon packed this jar & two paperbacks in a too-large box with only a bit of wadded brown paper for cushioning. The jar broke, of course (the outside of the box was not crushed at all), & the books were splattered & gooey, to say nothing of the broken glass.So four stars, despite the high quality of the product, & best of luck if you're brave enough to risk ordering it from Amazon.

This is one of those vegan staples that I need to keep in stock. It has made the soups and most the food i make, have that chicken like flavor that is hard to recreate.Definitely try with gravy, soups, rice, etc.

Excellent quality that compliments your seasoning routine. This is always a must have when grocery shopping!

This is one of the few things I have to have in my kitchen. My husband doesn’t like to eat chicken but enjoys the taste of “chicken” foods. This tastes great and a little goes a long way. I use it most often for soup but have also used it in my meatless meat recipe experiments. My local grocery store no longer carries this vegetarian “chicken” flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it arrived bubble wrapped in a small box and not just thrown into an envelope so thank you to the people who packed it!!
