Bosch 10013297 Refrigerator Water Filter Bypass Plug

Thought something was wrong with our 5 month old fridge due to very sudden decrease in flow and lack of ice. We love the Bosch fridge, nice and quiet. However, opted for this filter bypass after seeing branded filter replacements at $40 and nonbranded at $20 ea, particularly since we already have filtered, city-supplied wate feeding our fridge water and ice maker. Popped this in and back to normal!

This worked great for our really fancy Bosch refrigerator. We just got we have a pump system that pumps bottled water into our fridge and we needed to bypass the filter because it’s too much pressure from the filter and so we just installed this and now the pump that pumps are bottled water through the wall to our refrigerator works perfectly thanks to this little bypass item. Otherwise, if you try and run water with no filter, and without this thing, you will flood your fridge.

As others have said, this is not a genuine Bosch part. Not sure how it can be sold as such. Returning.

Rather than regularly replacing our in-refrigerator water filter, we are using a high-capacity external filter that only needs replacing every ~3 years/10,000 gallons. As a result, we needed to bypass the in-refrigerator water filter with a bypass plug. This OEM plug appears sturdy and adequately built to last for the life of our Bosch refrigerator. When first installed, there was a small water leak which resolved once I removed and reseated the plug and screwed it in fully.

We recently renovated our kitchen and upgrade our appliances. Everything was great until we noticed that our new Thermador refrigerator was not making ice nor was any water from our reverse osmosis system coming put of the water dispenser. Rather than using the filter that came with the refrigerator, which didn't improve anything, this plug was the answer. After several hours we noticed that ice cubes were coming out of our internal ice maker and cold water was now available through the water dispenser.

Doubt that this product is a genuine Bosch product as there was no Bosch name on the plain brown box and had Asian writing on the label. I haven't installed it, but will return if it doesn't function correctly.

it works, no more filter changes. Just make sure you have an external water filter system.

Bosch 10013297 Refrigerator Water Filter Bypass Plug fit my refrigerator perfectly and was easy to install. We recently upgraded our whole house water filter conditioner and installed an undersink R.O. Unit with minerals which also supplies our refrigerator, rendering a refrigerator water filter cartridge obsolete. By replacing our refrigerator purification cartridge with this Bypass Plug our refrigerator performance has improved drastically.
