Comfortable yet Supportive Flexible Back Brace
OXCOMFORT Back Support Brace for Men - Back Brace for Lower Back Pain Women - Adjustable Back Support Belt With Lumbar Pad, Large SizeThis has become my favorite brace, even without an ice pack pocket! I compression fractured T-11 and T-12 in a motorcycle accident years ago, and still my back gives me problems. I don't do the exercises to strengthen my core, so every once in a while, I overdo and hurt. Also every once in a while, when I know I'm going to overdo, I will wear a brace while doing whatever I'm not really strong enough to be doing, and I can get it done. This brace has been GREAT for both scenarios - proactive and reactive to hurting my back! I love its length, and I figured out it is the generous placement of the 'fuzzy' Velcro side that lets it wrap securely. If you've ever worn a brace that Velcros, you bend and pickup whatever you aren't supposed to be picking up, and at THAT moment the Velcro lets go because it wasn't on securely enough ... you've been there! This is not that! We just got a great deal on a new range, which meant the old freestanding stove had to be pulled out and because we were getting the new induction stove (HEAVY!) from an outlet store (no delivery option!), we had to pick the new stove up and bring it home. Wearing shoulder harnesses and me in my brace, we did the order pickup using our little pickup truck. Wearing my brace and shoulder lifting straps, we got the old stove out of the kitchen, into the garage and brought the new stove into the house thru the garage and installed in the kitchen. Leading up to this, my back has been trying to go out for weeks because I keep pushing it due to family events all this year. I like that this brace is flexible enough to flex with me esp. side-to-side or turning without poking, yet the metal supports in the back keep it firm and remind me to be cautious.Reading other reviews, shocked that people are looking for this to solve all their problems. If you are looking for an orthopedic medical brace aka durable medical supply item - those are like steel cages, look like steel cages, and feel like steel cages so those cannot be confused with this wrap around type of brace. I spent years in an orthopedic medical brace, but even if you get your doctor to prescribe one of those, your orthopedic doctor will tell you that cage type brace cannot be worn all the time because you must strengthen your core muscles and that cage-type brace will cause your muscles to atrophy (but I often have great posture and I credit my cage (wink)). Instead, THIS IS THE TYPE OF FLEXIBLE SUPPORT BRACE NEEDED by most, including me! This brace does not have a pocket for an ice pack, but by wearing this supportive yet flexible brace I've not needed an icepack. I love how this wraps around with extra Velcro security. The sides are a more open weave, and perhaps this also adds to the overall comfort as I can wear it day after day (all day long) over my clothes, so I've not overheated my stomach sweating from the brace padding. This has become my favorite brace of all my medical supplies.

Comfortable, Easy to Use, Supports my Back Well
I have lower back pain on occasion, and I am known to have bad posture, so when I saw this back brace up for review I knew that I had to try it. The brace comes with an instruction sheet on how to best use it, and also includes a triangular pad with velcro attached that you can add for extra support. The brace is easy to put on and fit around my stomach well, and I'm a 6 ft 235 lb guy. I admittedly don't wear it all of the time, but I do when I feel that I need the extra support and when I need to have better posture - mainly while working at my office desk. I have noticed my posture improving significantly, and my back hurts less often. As with any claim of this nature, I cannot be certain that this brace is what led to this reduction in lower back pain, but I have noticed it since using it. My only minor complaint is that the brace is somewhat hefty and thick, and I have seen slimmer ones - but if you're okay with that, or like a larger style brace, then I would recommend this brace for someone in a similar situation to myself.

Excellent, well-made brace for lower back support
This back brace came at a perfect time for me - which may havve influence my review slightly, but also made it easy for me to review this because it went to immediate use. Just a few days prior to acquiring this back brace, I actually hurt/threw out my back to the point where I was almost completely immobilized because of the pain I was feeling. I had just borrowed a friend's back brace to help support my lower back and I was able to replace that one with this product, fresh out of the box.For me, this was definitely a high quality product, that I was able to fit snugly around my waist and band and immediately feel the type of support/pain relief you need when you are experiencing lower pain as a I was. If there is any drawback, it's that because it's basically a single waistband closed with velcro, and doesn't have shoulder straps to hold it place, it can start to slip a bit down your waist, if you're wearing it under clothes to get around. The other minor nitpick was the lumbar pad, which at first just seems like an additional triangular piece of material that can be detached/attached to the band - but it does have it's uses. to apply additional pressure on your back when you add it to the band. I think a pocket for an ice pack/heat pack would be a more useful for the future, but it's a minor thing.

Very Supportive Back Brace, I Use It Almost Every Day
I wasn't sure what to expect from a back brace like this, but I ordered it with the hope that it would give my lower back some support and help out with lumbar pain. The brace (more of a belt, really) is very adjustable and supportive, and I use it all the time, more days than not. I've found it helps my posture, which has been a real help. The belt does stay in place pretty well. I wear it over a t-shirt and under my regular shirt, and it's not really visible. It will migrate downwards and fold in on itself a little over the course of a full day unless you adjust it, and at that point it can chafe a little since it's narrower. But overall, it's pretty amazing how it stays in place. The only thing I would change is to make the main wide velcro tab a bit stiffer. When you pull down on it a bit, it tends to wrinkle and it would be great if it did not do so as easily. I'd also prefer the side straps to go over a full piece of fabric, instead of strips like they do now. If the belt does fold over itself then the openings in those strips can become pinch points.Overall, for the cost, this has provided me support and relief, and it's proven to be well constructed. It's a good item even without the suggested improvements.

Very supportive.
This is very supportive. It feels like it's well made. I sized up to extra large just to make sure it fits and it fits nicely.
