Happiness, blessings, and good fortune. This scroll shimmers and sparkles and is magical 🐍
The OUNONA Hanging Picture is a wonderful red velour hanging scroll with gold rods on the top and bottom. Beautifully embossed with gold Chinese calligraphy, coloured sparkle and cut-out details. I believe it's a scroll print of Chinese-style Kakemono which is hung on the wall for the Chinese lunar New Year Zodiac. The Chinese horoscope, also known as the Chinese zodiac, is an ancient system that has fascinated and guided people for thousands of years. Unlike the Western zodiac, which is based on the months of the year, the Chinese zodiac is based on a twelve-year cycle, with each year being represented by an animal. In 2025, we will enter the Year of the Snake, a sign known for its enigmatic and introspective nature. The Year of Wood Snake will begin on January 29th, 2025 (Chinese New Year) and end on February 16th, 2026.In Chinese mythology, the early creators of mankind – often referred to as Fu Xi and Nv Wa, were divine creators and looked like a hybrid of human and snake – the head being human, the body the one of a snake. For this reason, the ancient Chinese worshiped the snake totem. In Chinese culture, the snake is also often known as the “little dragon” – the Chinese zodiac sign being associated with attributes such as intuition, introspection and refinement. The Snake is the sixth animal in the 12-year Chinese zodiac cycle, following the Dragon and preceding the Horse. Known for its enigmatic, intuitive, and wise nature, the Snake embodies a unique blend of charm and mystery. People born in the Year of the Snake are often perceived as graceful, analytical, and insightful, with a deep-seated need for introspection and personal growth.I'm passionate about Chinese mythology and won't deny it, I love China. Chinese people are some of the kindest people I have ever met in my entire life.I know some Chinese and Chinese calligraphy and understand the main big character (Fú) on the scroll means happiness, blessings, and good fortune. It is very well-made and looks fantastic on my wall.It comes carefully rolled inside a wonderfully illustrated box and would be fabulous to give it as a gift to someone born in the Year of the Snake.I highly recommend it.

Good quality just not as pictured
The quality is very good, better than expected. However my only issue is that what actually arrived was not as it was pictured. The picture shows a treasure chest, the one I received was a vase. There was no paperwork or inscription in English to explain what it actually means/symbolises.

Beautiful Chinese New Year Feng Shui Couplet
This is a beautiful hanging Chinese scroll in its typical fashion, it's bright red and has gold writing all over it. This scroll has glitter and cutouts, which is not something I've seen in other scrolls. This one features a Chinese lantern with the word "fu" which translates to as "luck/fortune". Towards the bottom of the scroll there is a vase with flowers, taels and coins around it.From top right to bottom left, it reads "fu dao wo jia" which roughly translates to "luck/fortune has arrived".On the right hand side of the vase it reads "he jia ping an" which translates to "peace and safety for the whole family".The other characters on the left hand side of the vase are written in ancient Chinese which I cannot read.Otherwise this is a nice Chinese couplet with meaning, fortunate and wishes.
