This is a really great textbook, easy to understand and a lot of valuable information in the appendix at the back. (also the textbook we're using while studying Japanese in Kyoto so that can only be a good thing.

One of the best language learning books ever made. (Together with the Minna No Nihongo Shokyu I Dai 2-Han Honsatsu)

This book is a great companion for studying Japanese. The explanations are clear and make the grammar much easier to understand. It really helps break down sentence structures in a simple way. It matches well with the main textbook and makes self-study much smoother. If I had to mention one small thing, I wish there were a few more example sentences, but overall it’s very useful and well organized. Definitely recommend for beginners.

Bought as a complement for Minna no Nihongo 2nd ver: Bk 1 w/ CD - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/4883196038/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_img_sol_3 I haven't used it much since I got it, but it's good to help in the understanding of the actual manual. Not a substitute, though, so I still recommend getting the earlier-referred-to book.

This book is as recommended by the seller, and it is also very useful for those who are learning Japanese on their own. I also suggest everyone to purchase the Renshu (practice) book along with the vocabulary and grammar book. This will make learning even easier.

Heads up: this is a translation of the vocabulary & grammer, its NOT the main text book. I was confused lol

Not that I expected less, but this is printed on classic high-quality Japanese text book paper, flipping the pages just feels luxurious. That's a bonus. If you're working through Minna no Nihongo on your own, like I currently am, this book is essential. While it's theoretically possible to learn the kana and then decipher what's going on in the red book independently, unless you're fairly adept at typing in japanese you can't really google the examples, and google translate won't necessarily teach you the same (or correct) things. If you have a teacher or aren't using the Minna no Nihongo red books... there's no point in getting this book. With a teacher, the red book is a lot easier (I used to have one... they didn't like the red Minna book but we used it alone until other text books came). This book doesn't have enough examples to stand alone as a complete text book. It really is a partner book to the red ones.

Love it, way more better oriented towards non school kids. Genki was a bore. I am pleased I got this. If you are self studying get the english companion book
