Not as good as last year but still a great planner
After using the 2017-2018 version of this planner for a year I decided to continue with the new 2018-2019 release. This is more a comparison of the two rather than a full review as the images and other reviews should suffice for potential buyers.First there are minor changes to the cover, although small I prefer the previous version more. Maybe because I am more used to it, but I did like how the "Extended Midyear International" fitted into its embossed hexagon. The embossed feel of the cover over all has lost a bit of the quality of the previous, particularly on the large yellow numbers. The overall colour of the planner is now a soft yellow instead of the bold orange from the previous. This makes the text harder to read as it fits on the white pages. Although not a big problem, it still is a downgrade. The Goals page has had the weeks removed which is a shame. The list and notes section at the back has had the contacts section stripped down to half the space. The Calendar pages that were on pages 214-217 have been stripped down to two pages and no longer have room for four weeks (A line for each) and the Timetable has been halved in size fitting two week plans onto one page instead of having a page each as before. Even with all these reductions in the back there is still a page less for notes at the back (unless you choose to not use the contacts section for contacts).Onto the positives, they have added a Projects page which has compensated for the removal of the weeks in the Goals page. It is a designed table. The Quarterly Plans have improved a little, better explanations on how to organise the page with tasks and objectives, there has also been a clean up of the holidays showing here, now only important international events appear. The week plane has had its boarder removed, although it doesn't look as neat it does open up more space on the page. This year my planner came with a loose calendar sheet, not sure how much use this will be but its a little extra from the last.Overall, I feel the planner has taken a small step backwards this year. The faded yellow colour instead of a dark orange like the previous and the lower quality in the cover are my main complaints. But the planner is still excellent compared to many I have seen and I do like the addition of the year Project planning table. I do highly recommend this planner and hopefully the issues I have raised will be addressed in the following version.
