Gypsy Quilter The Incredible in-Between Gripper

Just over a week ago, I was cutting some fabric, using my ruler and rotary cutter and the ruler slipped. The cutter claimed a good portion of my left thumb (OUCH) so I decided I needed a gripping device to stabilize the ruler during the cutting process. This little GEM does the trick. It's easy to put on and take off. Used properly, your hand is safely away from the cutting blade and it allows you to hold the ruler in place without fear of it slipping while cutting. There is a little indicator on the back of the device which tells you if it is secured. GREEN means it's secure; RED means you have to readjust! I have to admit, I was more than a little apprehensive about using a cutter again after my accident (thumb is still quite sore and out of commission for a few more weeks....I really miss it! LOL), but I love quilting far too much to let that stop me! :). I highly recommend this gripper. I used it last night cutting fabric and it went so smoothly! Take the plunge! Well worth the money! If I had to pick at one thing, it would be the color choice. Wish they had more colors to choose from. Other than that? Go for it!

I have 2. They are a great size for smaller guides but with enough suction to hold. The second one is harder to push the lever b creating the suction. Sometimes I have to use my weight (all 115 lbs). The first one is easier.Follow up: the suction on the second grip is obviously defective. It is now impossible to use. If it is hard to push down when you first get it, it will only get worse. Return it.

I have one of the double gypsy grippers that I use especially if I need to attach two rulers together. I have loved it and wanted another smaller gripper to attach to individual rulers that are a little bigger but tend to slide a little. I think this will be just the tool I wanted to do the job. The suction is great and appears as easy to use as my double gripper. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this for my mother who has been busy sewing masks. It is the perfect size for the smaller acrylic rulers and she says it works great. I would definitely recommend this to others. I've tried it a few times and the suction is very strong.

I bought the set of 3 of these in different sizes and had to pay extra to have them shipped to U.K. and cover customs duty etc. All l Ican say is that it was money well spent. These are the best grippers I've ever used. Not only do they facilitate easy handling of my rulers, but they can be taken off and re applied very easily. Wonderful product.

This is a good concept but I found it was extremely hard to close the latch when trying to get it to suction to the ruler. I also found it didn’t stick as well as I was hoping. I should have returned it, that’s on me.

My arms don't have the strength they used to have. This gripper really works. I place it on my 8x24 or 6x24 template, and it doesn't move. How great is that! I also have this company's gadget to cut threads when chain piecing. What a time saver. I bought that on Amazon, too, and I'd give it 5 stars as well. My only objection - this company's branded color isn't my cup of tea. But at least it's not pink!

LOVE this gripper! I have always been a little scared of using my rotary cutter to cut quilt squares. I didn't like having my fingers so close to that razor sharp cutter. This gripper has made it all such much easier. The gripper "grips" strongly to the quilting rulers and templates that I use, and I'm not nervous about using the rotary cutter now. So glad that I found this wonderful tool.
