Great book as a refresher or as new nurse. I bought this book to go with the class. I've taken the class and read the book 3 different times over the years and every time I learn something new!! It focuses on stabilizing a sick baby for transport, but it also has good information on just stabilizing the baby, no matter what level of NICU you work in. It's also good for nurses who work in mother-baby units because it explains the signs/symptoms to look for in a well baby that may need to be transferred to the NICU or a higher level of care. I highly recommend this book and the class that goes along with it! The best part was that it had free same day delivery and it was the cheapest I could find online!! Oh and it's a very easy read without a lot of complicated lingo and there are lots of graphs and pictures to go along with it.

This is a great book, and has a wealth of practical and very useful information! I just wish it could be available on Kindle, so one can have easy access to a dictionary, and not have to lug around a large book. NRP is available on Kindle, and it would be amazing if this book could be too!

This is a book full of realistic scenarios of the post-resuscitation, pre-transport time period of neonates in the NICU setting. The acronym makes it very easy to recall which steps are your priority at which point during the process of stabilizing and continuously reassessing the neonate. I went to the STABLE course as well, which I HIGHLY recommend for all NICU nurses. Very informative. I learned a LOT, and it's applicable to every shift. I bought the book to help reinforce all the information we learned in class.

I think it's ridiculous that we keep having to buy these. It's expensive and I know they're changing it next year so they'll change one tiny little thing in it so you have to buy new books. It's shameful but it is what it is and I was able to get this from the seller so it's not their fault that the industry does what they do to us nurses.

I am a new grad NICU nurse working in a level 4 acuity NICU. I bought this book to better prepare myself for my first day on the job. 10/10 would recommend

It was suggested by a doctor that we should attend a STABLE class because I work in postpartum. This book is very informative. Even though somethings mention I won’t do on the floor a majority of the information is a must when caring for newborns.
