Very satisfied with this machine
I didn't want to spend all the money for a new machine, so I took a chance on this one which said "like new". It's a MacBook Pro 15in Quad Core i7 2.8GHz Retina (MGXG2LL/A), 16GB RAM, 1TB Solid State Drive (Renewed). They weren't kidding. It was pretty much in "like new" condition. The screen and the keyboard are perfect and the case had a just a couple of really tiny scratches on the bottom. With a Mid 2014 machine, I don't think you could expect it to be any better. It works beautifully. I run a lot of of software, since I'm a software engineer by trade and a musician by passion. I use several audio processing programs along with Sibelius notation software. In general, I have at least 10 apps open at a time. Some of these are not light weight applications. I don't know if all these machines come from the same source? This one came from the seller "Always Less Than Apple" in Richardson, TX. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. They did a really great job, and if I don't kill it, this machine will be worth something when I decide to move up to a machine with Apple silicon. Pesuming that is the architecture at the time. With Apple, you never know.

This was a great machine, but just not upgradeable enough for my editing software
The computer was in great shape but it turned out to be an earlier year than I expected and would not use my video editing software

Extremely Satisfied
Though this is a 2014, it’s in perfect condition and has the latest MacOS Big Sur operating system. I needed to upgrade because I use Google Chrome as my web browser for the majority of the apps I need for work. The battery life in incredible. Charger included. Also, this MacBook Pro is very light in weight compared to my previous MacBook.

CATASTROPHEEEEEE
I am a Dj 35+ years in the game and I have never been more embarrassed in my profession, as I was on the night of 7/17/2021. I purchased this machine on 6/6/2021 and the first time I used it for a gig was on this night. I was disgusted that the machine completely crashed on me. Like totally died. The screen started to flicker from black to solid blue. I was so baffled that i hard rebooted the machine 3 times while i was at the event thinking that would make a difference...NOTHING!. Luckily i had my external hard drive with me and was able to plug into the deejay who went on before me, his machine. The exterior of the machine was in amazing condition, but internally...Horrible. It looked like it could have been a hard drive/logic board issue. Thee worst!!!

Perfect
This thing looked brand new other than one spot that really isn’t noticeable unless you’re looking for it. It’s super fast. This is the perfect MacBook for a DJ. Fast, a lot of storage and great display.

It's a gamble, but it may pay off
I was looking for a backup laptop and selected this model because I'd bought an original one back in 2015.The refurb price was about a quarter of what I'd paid back then so I felt it wasn't too shabby a deal.Well, first of all I ordered a 2.8 and received a 2.5. That should have been a red flag right away and I probably should have returned it immediately but I gave it a try and was still satisfied with how it worked. In fact, it worked like a champ ... for 97 days. Yes, 7 days after the return window closed, the battery stopped being recognized and now it only works while it's plugged in - which is still okay most of the time, but also defeats the purpose of being a laptop when you can't transport it away from the power cable. So basically I rented a laptop for three months at a pretty high price....although it still works just fine - so long as I keep it plugged in all the time.I'm a glutton for punishment so I'm ordering another one - hey, at least I know it'll probably work for at least 90 days! But this time I will really be putting the battery through its paces early so I'm not surprised later when it fails to cycle. Also, if it doesn't meet the specs as advertised, I'm not giving the benefit of a doubt this time. Good luck everybody!

This unit look brand new when I received it. It was immaculate.
For the prices that Apple charges for computers, you should never buy a brand new one because the used models are excellent, and will do everything that you require for way less money
