Looks nice, opens hard.
This mail door looks great. It is hard to open. I'm sure this is designed to close tightly to keep the weather out but really could use a tab to make it easier to open. Note: once installed you will see the bare wood (door inside). It doesn't come with anything to cover or insert in the door cut out. I stained the wood to make it less noticeable and that worked ok. Easy to install.

The best choice for what I needed!
After great consideration, I selected this product because of it basic design and the generous opening size. I didn't need it to install on a door, I was building a large box to receive mail and packages and keep them safe while I wasn't home, and this worked great for that! So, I cannot say how well it works with a sleeve. I bought a discounted returned item with a minor blemish and it came complete with its template and mounting screws- my only complaint is that there's no indentation or anything on the bottom of the door to make it easier to open. Even with that being said, it is easy to operate.

Nice looking product. Easy to install.
Looks really good. I wish that the flange area was a bit wider, because there's not much room to put the screws in. If you don't follow the template exactly, it's possible that the screws won't have any wood to grip, or we'll be so close to the cut that the wood might split. Otherwise, easy to install and works great.

Makes it more convenient to retrieve my mail
Item installed easily with screws provided, good spring action and movement. Looks good and easily noticed and available to mail carrier. Convenient for me to collect my mail from inside the porch instead of going outside when raining or other bad weather.

Mail slot
Very well made mail slot and quality materials. I needed a brass mail slot to match my other door hardware. I installed this into a wall and had to cut into stucco. A bit of challenge for your average handy man. Luckily I had all the tools. I highly recommend the sleeve which is sold separately. There is a cheaper version on amazon but I highly recommend getting this one for the quality of material.

Good looking mail slot
We painted our house and replaced our ugly old mail slot with this one, and it looks great and seem durable. The only two things I don't like are: the edge of the panel is a bit sharp, and the panel is quite stiff, making it a bit hard to open. I put a metal clip on the edge to hold letters and this also makes it easier to open.

beautiful modern look mail slot
We installed it on our newly painted garage door as a replacement of the decades old mail slot. It looks great with out dark contemporary exterior paint color. Even the mailman said "thank you" to us; the old one was smaller and broken apart...The Spring-action lid feels little bit stiff when opening but it doesn't bother me. Since we installed it on the garage door, we had to buy a set of shorter screws and bolts. Make sure to buy the exterior use waterproof screws if you buy.

Mail Slot
It's a lovely mail slot but when it came it was too big. I measured the outside of my slot which measured 10 inches so I thought this was perfect. The measurements are not for the outside but rather for the actual slot in the inside. When reviewing other companies they also gave the same type of measurements. This could be avoided by just stating it was the inside measurements of the mail slot. It was sent back with no problem. This is why I always do business with Amazon.

Confused labelling
It looks and feels solid, and I was hoping that it would be made of solid brass. Amazon presents this as "solid brass" and I purchased it on this basis, since I do not wish my mail slot (to be placed on a new front door) to corrode. I was disappointed to note that the item is in fact made of "stainless steel" (see pic of reverse), while being branded as "Classic SolidBrassTM" (see pic of front). Spent more than 30 minutes on a chat support, bnut the Amazon support rep was not helpful to clarify this. However, the phone rep was more supportive, and promised to take it up with the manufacturer, National Hardware Supplies in the USA. This place provides a telephone number on its website, but they blockout calls from Canada. More intrigue!
