The book is a rollercoaster of emotions. it tell the story of a break up, dissecting the text sent the the author by different characters.Book has inside cd's and DVDs of conversations and a script of a movie based on this letter.different kind of paper has been used and there is even a part written in braille.I think that if you are a book lover, you will appreciate this volume even just for the way has been built. attention to details is almost maniacal.

album about the emotional journey from the very dark and lonely place where one can find itself after the relationship is over.Calle used work of 107 women, their opinions and thoughts, analysis and schemes- depend on their profession- to get to the point she can take care of herself and carry on living alone.she is a photographer so obviously there are pictures of the women who are giving their record on what and how they see that particular relationship and the 'farewell' letterthe most amazing is the form of the album- as every woman see and express the same thing differently every page is different, in a different form and colour.it's amazing, strongly emotional but yet smartly done book. and from artistic point of view one of those albums you will want to come back to again and again and again. well, I'm keeping mine somewhere close. always.

I have been and see the exhibition, it was amazing and well worth it, because of it I bought the book and I do not regret at all.Finally the story is reversed and is not the woman crying, instead is the man (if you wonder why buy the book and find out, I am not giving you the reason), nice touch to it, well depicted, unfortunately the book is limited to only still images but luckily it comes with the DVD if I remember correctly, so you can see the story in a Moving Image as well.If you are a deep thinker this book is satisfying, so buy it, is well worth to have it, rich in colours, well constructed and full of feelings.The picture cover it does not make justice to the whole idea and thats the reason I've rated the book 3 stars, is confusing with sexual or sensual books, but in reality it does not have anything to do with any sort of sexual images. Perhaps Sophie C. should rethink what sort of images she prints on the book cover.Buy it, is very pleasant and the images are simple, and yet brilliant composition to look at.Roxana B-B

The best 'coffee table' book I've ever had. Such a beautiful object as well as read / watch / listen. It is great to be taken back to my memory of the exhibition when at the White Chaple Gallery.

One of the best books by Sophie Calle. Worth every penny.

I already knew and loved the french version, I was curious to read the english version and I'm not disappointed. Great work.
