THE DANCESOCKS were created out of the need to safely twist & turn in sneakers while dancing. Sneakers are designed for forward and backward motion like running, not the pivoting required in all dance forms. If you need to adjust placement do so from the swivel sole. FOR CARPET ONLY: The DanceSocks will increase the range of motion of your sneakers by reducing traction. Dancing socks on carpet!
These are awesome, you can wear them over socks or shoes. They won’t be as great over socks, but comfier.Personally, I use them playing VR dancing on carpet in the clubs and wear them over socks and couldn’t be happier.Not miracle working but add good slide if carpet is the only option and you don’t want shoes

These work great. Easy to put on over tennis shoes and allows for ballroom dancing on short-cropped carpet without undue strain even when pivoting. Excellent!1/14/22 follow-up. We love these booties. We have access to a conference room / gym but it's always got the carpet down. These booties make it easy to practice. My wife wears them over her character shoes even. They hold up fine . . . and we use them several times per week. Our first pair is still in good shape but showing a few signs of wear so we ordered the second as back up. We've only used them on short-cropped carpet so we can't speak to anything but that but I think they would work well on deeper piles also. Excellent product!!!

I think the socks work great for doing certain exercises such as Zumba on carpet. They are very stretchy and definitely would probably fit over any tennis shoe. However they’re very slippery if you get on tile or linoleum. Also prior to receiving the socks I decided to use a pair of regular socks and they kind of work the same. I put them over my tennis shoes even though they were much tighter and even a little more slippery ... they still seem to work the same when doing Zumba

great for dancing on carpet
I put these Dance Socks over my tennis shoes and am able to pivot and turn while on carpet. Do not use on smooth flooring - too slippery. Great on carpet - what a difference it makes to be able to half-turns, twists, shuffles. They easily go on over my shoes and easy to take off. They stay put while dancing. I use them only at home on carpet.

Works great, but doesn't last very long.
I have had 2 pairs of these so far, going on the third. The product is great and does exactly what I want, which is not destroy my feet and/or actual socks on my carpet whilst avoiding the strain on my knees from wearing shoes that provide a lot of friction and twist.Unfortunately, if you do a (lot) of dancing on rougher low pile carpet or dance with a style with an intense focus on footwork/pivots/spins/etc, you may find that these will fall apart very quickly.My latest pair took but a mere 2 weeks to develop holes on front of the sole. Not the greatest durability; I know due to the nature of the product that it's consumable but it's pretty disappointing to see it last almost no time at all.If you don't do a lot of dancing, have a softer carpet, or don't do a ton of intense footwork, these will probably work great for you and last a lot longer. If you have a rougher low pile carpet and/or do a lot of footwork, look for other solutions such as jazz sneakers, ballet shoes, vinyl flooring, gym mats, etc If you don't want to be buying dozens of these.
