I returned as it did not fit for my needs. 17mm was 2mm too large and despite efforts would not work for me. This is well made, solid and holds its position with adjustable and tensionable screws. Had to try another route due to ball size.

My current car phone holders use 17mm Ball mounts, I wanted to extend it out a little bit further and these extension rod joints fit perfectly. Initially I thought since they were plastic that they would be shaking a lot. But they are tensioned well with the locking nuts and if needed can be tightened more. I am still playing around with the positions of my car mount so I haven't tightened up the bolts to lock in position But out of the box the tension on the arms works for me. I can see in the future due to heat in the car that the plastic may loosen up but like I said you can tighten up the bolts if that happens. But so far so good.

this works great on extending and relocating the final position of the mount.

It's solid and stays where you put it. Perfect size for me!

Needed the unit for more distance and when straight the plastic would flex. This would cause the phone to be hard to see or touch in the correct place while moving. Great mobility. Maybe if it was only used to get the best position but when extended I just couldn't deal with it. Joints are tight and don't move.

Very durable and strong material.

This is a male to male ball mount, it is not meant to be used as an extender. Additionally, you do have to use Allen wrenches to make adjustment, and they're fixed until you change them again. So it's not super convenient that you can make adjustments on the fly, but it is meant to be very rigid once you set it in place.

I got this 17mm double ball arm because I have been increasingly using more and more 17mm mounts, from cell holders, cell chargers, and things. Sometimes the original mount arm is not long enough, or doesn’t allow the device to be positioned as desired because of limitations in the ball socket angle. The balls are the right size and fit/tighten well, and the plastic parts are strong and lightweight.Be aware that the arms are designed to be set and left in position. There is no knob to adjust at will, rather require an Allen wrench to loosen and tighten. Also, the balls can only stay in the same plane, which means that the arms/balls cannot be twisted in any arbitrary positon. Lastly, this are can’t be ADDED to another mount, but rather will replace one of the double ball arms. Despite all this, this double-ball arm is still a good deal, especially two for under $8.
