This gas leak detector works really well. We had gas leaking from our stove. it was good to have once we had the stove repaired just to make sure it still wasn’t leaking. Obviously, we tested it before the repair and then afterwards. It worked like a charm! There’s no reason to spend a lot of money for one of these devices. This one is a good value for the money, and was very reliable. I would buy it again and highly recommend it to others. Good thing to have around the house. We bring it with us when we stay at vacation rental places, because we had a bad experience once with another leaky stove. We returned to the rental after a long day out having fun and the house with filled with gas. No, every time we stay in a rental, we test the stove, the oven, and any wall heater they may have. Comes in very handy!

This review evaluates the “PT760 Rechargeable Gas Leak Detector with 12-inch Extendable Probe” made by TOP TES.The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging. What’s in the box: one (1) PT760 rechargeable gas leak detector, one (1) USB-C to USB-A charging cable, one (1) Semi-rigid soft zippered carrying case, and the owner’s manual.I will preface this review by stating that I have tested several gas meters from TOP TES and found them to be of excellent quality, and the PT760 did not disappoint as well.First impressions: The overall quality of the gas meter is excellent, with a durable hard ABS plastic casing and a large, easy-to-read colour backlit LED screen. The unit is powered by an internal USC-C chargeable lithium-polymer battery; which is a feature I really like because it is more convenient to charge a battery not to mention more environmentally conscious than using disposable batteries. The low battery indicator will engage when the battery voltage is below 2.4V and the unit automatically powers off after 5 minutes without operation or gas detection. The unit has a very bright onboard LED light that shines ahead of the probe so you can see what you are doing. The metal sensor probe is telescopic and extends up to 12” keeping you at a safe testing distance. The manufacturer includes a decent zippered soft case to protect the meter when it is not in use.The unit fits nicely and ergonomically in your hand with nice non-slip grips on both sides of the unit. The unit is simple to operate: you press the red ON/OFF button and the unit turns on to warm up/calibrate (30 seconds) and the LED will show you its ready status. Once the calibration is complete the unit will beep and you are ready to sample the environment area by simply placing the extendable 12” long steel probe close to the suspect area. If a gas (aromatic hydrocarbons: natural gas, butane, ethane, methane, propane, acetylene, toluene, benzene, etc.) is detected in a concentration greater than 100ppm the detector emits a loud (75dB) alarm and the LED screen flashes RED with a bar graph indicating the approximate strength detected. My demonstration video was done with a simple butane lighter. The meter has a maximum detection range of 100-10,000PPM. I found this meter extremely handy to do my yearly checks on my RV’s propane system prior to use. It is also handy to check for leaks on your home’s furnace or your BBQ.Since I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program, I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. In order to determine long-term meter durability and accuracy, I intend to monitor this product over the next 12 months. Should anything change over this period, I will update this review accordingly.Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am very satisfied with the product, it is compact, portable, and easy to use. It is great for checking for leaks on gas lines, storage cylinders, valves, connections, gauges, regulators, etc. At a current price of $45.99, it is of great value when compared to similar units costing twice as much!In summary: the “PT760 Rechargeable Gas Leak Detector with 12-inch Extendable Probe” made by TOP TES is well made, compact, accurate, and easy to use.
