Really different from Ahmed Earl Grey
This has a really rich, sweet, citrusy-scent. It's a milder Earl Grey, with much larger leaves (so fewer bits escape when pouring from a chainik.) At twice the price of Ahmed, I can't call it a bargain, but it does seem a higher quality tea.

Opinions, Mostly.
The majority of my family (3/5) loves this tea, as it smells wonderful and has a very nice taste not at all bitter (1 to 2 1/2 teaspoons of sugar per mug for my family, less if a splash of milk is added but my mother loves it plain with just a teaspoon of sugar.)or bland like Bigelow. My father has commented however that he doesn't like it because the smell reminds him too much of perfume, so if you don't personally like a robust bergamot scent and flavor perhaps this brand isn't for you, I would recommend Peets as the bergamot is more subtle and the black tea blend gives it a fuller base flavor.

Disgusting, not a drop of Earl Grey in this tea
Such disgusting tea. There was no bergamot flavor whatsoever in the pots I brewed. I expected it to at least taste like Earl Grey, but one pot tasted of a weird vanilla flavor, the others that I made just tasted like bitter, poor quality black tea. For the price, I expect better. Contacted Stash and they said "Stash Earl Grey teas are made with only natural bergamot oil and contain no vanilla flavor or additives." Really? Not my bag. This was purchased from the Stash Amazon store, and yet they asked for batch numbers that were not on the bag when I contacted them, and after sending them what I could, never heard back from them. Won't be buying Stash Loose Leaf Tea anymore. Harney & Sons, which I bought at the same time, is so much better. Even Frontier Co-op's Earl Grey is better.

Strong citrus, little bergamot
The citrus flavor to me is quite strong, not a hint like described. I definitely prefer earl gray teas with just the bergamot flavor so unlikely to purchase this again. The tea seems to be fine quality though.

A sad and surprising disappointment!
Aroma on opening the bag?. Delicious! Citrus, spice and more. But little bergamot... Very strange! The tea itself? Not nearly as flavorful as I expected. Been drinking Earl Grey for many years, 99% loose leaf. Very rarely tea bags. Expected more flavor and depth from Stash loose leaf. Thought maybe it was date expired but no, 9 months to go! Sad, dashed my great expectations! Even their tea bags had better bergamot flavor.

Poor quality tea, lack of packed date only use by so who knows how old it is, weak tea strength, flat and stale. Bergamot has no high notes and leaves an oily coating in your mouth. Unpleasant after taste and feel, possibly the Bergamot oil is nearly off or not food grade as the aroma in the bag is pungent and almost non existant on brewing. Never been so disappointed, totally unacceptable for a supposedly premium quality tea, total waste of money. Do not buy Stash Earl Grey, Twinnings, Dilmah and Madura are far superior quality products. Recently bought Red Leaf Earl Grey which was a good strong tea perfectly balanced with Bergamot. Melbourne company, quality fresh tea, should have stayed with that but was lured by the price for 454 grams of the Stash price. Expensive mistake the tea is not drinkable.
