"Me Grimlock Kick Butt, ROAR!!!"
Grimlock will literally punch you in the face with a mace.He looks like what you'd get if you imagined a T-Rex while you gave yourself a concussion hitting your head against a wall. Which is basically what his personality is: he constantly in a violent, concussive state. Or at least that seems to be the outcome of other bots spending any time in the same room with him: no one is safe. I left him and my 3-year-old kiddo together with an army of transformers and when I came back into the room there were bots all over the place. And I know it wasn't my organized little kiddo. All that was left upright was Blackout and Starscream. Starscream has been since cowering on the other side of the room and, Blackout is now currently standing next to Trypticon, behind the rest of the dinobots, with Menasor at his back for safety.Grimlock on the other hand is is currently hanging out with Rodimus Prime, God Ginrai, and Fortress Maximus, to keep everyone else safe from that ravenous, mainiac of awesome. But don't worry, Grimlock loves kids, and he's house broken out of the box.If you find yourself bored or too organized and need something to make your life a little more fun and messy, or if you like robots or dinosaurs or robots that look like dinosaurs or dinosaurs that look like robots, keep Grimlock in mind. He can out mess a 3-year-old and keep all the rest of your bots in check. He's very sturdy, he can stand up to an army or a 3-year-old going on 5 or 6. And he looks good to boot. He's Kid and Dad approved. And dads get the added opportunity to show off their skills transforming the guy for the kiddo until they get it.

What AOE Grimlock SHOULD have been.
This is what the AOE Leader class SHOULD have been. It is not to say there isn't some criticisms, but this figure is what I would expect of a Masterpiece Movie figure. For that I will break from traditions and post the bad followed by the good. The Bad:- The soft rubber butt flap. In robot mode, it adds to the depth of the knight aspect. In Dinobot mode, it serves as the under portion of his tail. And THAT is the issue. It has no where to tab in so it just kind of sits there flapping (your flap may vary).- The tail section in general. It lacks movement - it's just there. The head on one shoulder splits apart and forms the sides of his tail as well as his ball fist. But it doesn't tab in either. It just sits there.- The instructions suck. I had to watch YouTube reviews to see what I was missing. Granted, they've been terrible for years, but typically you can figure it out without them. This guy was rough without it at first.- No weapons. Yeah, he has the ball fist thing, but he lacks the spear. The Good:Holy smokes he looks great. I'm contemplating buying a second one just for the alternate mode. Normally, when you buy a Dinobot, you put them in Dino mode and leave him there. Forever. This guy looks amazing as a Bot. It may actually be better than dino mode.- the paint job is superb. He looks amazing. The level of detail for a non-masterpiece retail figure is unreal.- He towers over the other figures in the line...as Grimlock should. He even towers over the AOE leader class Grimlock.- He looks intimidating as Grimlock should. He gives the impression that he is a Knight as hinted at before his rampage in AOE.Overall, if you are a fan of the Dinobots, this guy is a no-brainer. If you love G1 and hate the Bayverse, this guy MAY change your mind. The only changes that I see maybe coming from the 3rd Party people is extra weapons and tabs for the butt flap. I truly believe that the hardest part about owning this guy as compared to the rest of the Studio Series is decided which mode to leave him in until I inevitably break down and purchase a second one.

Great Toy!
My 12 yo son LOVES this. He'd been scoping it out at Target, and then we found it on Amazon. He was super excited to open the box last night and he packed it with him when we left the house. It is currently sitting on my dashboard eating my air freshener tree. (Ignore my dirty windshield, we're headed to the carwash next). Anyways, he says that he wishes it was a little bigger, and that when it is a Transformer (and not a dinosaur) it had a hand instead of a spike ball. Also he wishes it had come with it's weapon. Overall, he loves it and I know it's going to get lots of play time. Great buy!

Amazing Grimlock figure
Amazing Grimlock figure.Visuals 9/10 - Would give the figure a 10, but some areas on the figure have been painted black instead of gun metal.Articulation 6/10 - Limited movement and poses. Can mostly pose in standing up right position only.Sturdiness 9/10 - Not fragile, probably can survive a few falls, and strong enough to take more beating than most figures.Presence 6/10 - Big enough to tower over 4 to 8 inch figures, shiny finish makes the figure stand out from the rest, and menacing look.

Great figure, but toe and front skirt keep coming off
This figure is great, it has many details and moves very well, however the wrecking ball hand looks a little cheap without dry brushing. Also its right toe and front skirt keep falling off, they snap back into place but cause some difficulty putting it back on.A bit overpriced but overall a great figure I do recommend.
