Seagate Skyhawk AI 24TB Video Internal Hard Drive HDD – 3.5 Inch SATA 6Gb/s 512MB Cache for DVR NVR Security Camera System with in-House Rescue Services (ST24000VE002)

Replaced my 2 TB hard drive in my Eufy NVR system with six combo PTZ and fixed S4 max cameras. This 16 TB hard drive was very easy to replace fit right in with four little screws and then plugged in the data and power cable. Had the NVR all hooked up with the ethernets, lan and power and ready to go in about 15 minutes. The 16 TB drive went through its formatting in a couple of minutes and then was fully up and running recording all motion video from all six cameras, very seamless. It is a touch louder than the Western Digital 2 TB drive that came with the system, but not unacceptable. All-in-all a nice large drive made exactly for this NVR system with AI and 512 MB cache and 6Gb/s transfer rate, for a very good price. Highly recommend !!!

Excellent replacement for Lorex Fusion NVR. My 3 hardwire cameras that records in 4K now shows right over a month of continuous recording where as the 2TB it came with only recorded 1 week's worth of footage. From amazon, it was sealed in plain manufacturer brown box with plain seagate label with product info and barcodes, inside was the disc drive in an electronic mylar bag. It is genuine Seagate product that registered on website with 5 year warranty. Had a DOM: 05 July 2025, I ordered this end of October as backorder and got in mid November 2025. 8TB surveillance has excellent capacity, compatible with Lorex NVR that allows Max 8TB storage. Fast loading and playback performance. And was formatted through lorex NVR after installing with ease. The price was right around 200$ which was a decent price in my opinion for a big drive compared to other brands.

Received a defective hard drive that makes loud noise and report abnormal status. Asked for replacement and returned the defective one back. After few days, seller cancelled my replacement order and stated that their policy calls for no replacement but refund after passing inspection. They demanded to fully inspect the defective product before allowing the refund. This took about 10 days of unnecessary delay. The no replacement policy was not stated anywhere. I could have paid less for same product if I wanted to wait.

I’ve been happy with this Seagate SkyHawk AI 8TB hard drive overall. I used it for video storage, and it has worked well so far. The 8TB capacity gives plenty of room for security camera footage, DVR/NVR use, or any setup where you need a lot of continuous recording space. The drive was recognized without any trouble, and installation was straightforward. I like that the SkyHawk line is made for surveillance-style use, where the drive may be writing video footage for long periods of time instead of just being used like a normal desktop storage drive. Performance has been good, and I have not had any problems with recording or playback. The larger cache is also nice to have, especially when dealing with video files and multiple streams. I’d give it 4 stars mainly because, like most mechanical surveillance drives, it is not completely silent. That may not matter inside an NVR or equipment closet, but if you are putting it in a quiet room, you may notice some normal hard drive noise. Also, as with any hard drive, I would still recommend having a backup plan for anything important. Overall, it’s a solid high-capacity drive for video storage or surveillance systems. It works well, has plenty of space, and seems like a good choice for an NVR or security camera setup.

Some have said that this hard drive is noisy but it was simple to install and startup was as easy after formatting the drive and then turning the power off and on it was ready to go. I can stand in front of the nvr at 2 feet and I cannot hear the drive making any kind of noise. I go back as far as it had recorded and call on the playback and I still hear nothing and see a very clear display. I have now bought 2 additional 8GB drives like this and have installed one of them with no problem or noise. The cost seems reasonable and the compatibility is there with no noise should be running without overheating then it should last for a long time. Have not had the drive for very long but will buy this drive for any additional needs that I have. If I have any problems I will update but for now I am happy with the purchase.

Quick, easy swap for a Lorex system I bought at Costco. I went from 2 TB to 10 TB without an issue.

I am looking to replace my Qnap storage since it is harddisk for CCTV surveillance, I assume no issue with 24/7 running. I need one urgently as my disk 1 is already giving distress signal. Much later, I read the reviews and realized it is not built for multitasking.. and AI serve little purpose. Yet to know it's performance since just installed.
