Columbia Men's Big Cedar Hiking Boot

A very beautiful boot.I weigh 200 pounds and running shoes don't last more than 30-days.I do walking, for exercise.The running shoes are collapsing. At the arch, causing me to walk lopsided.So, this is a solution. I need to wear these for a while--hoping they keep my feet in a level place.So far, they are fantastic and comfortable.The boot laces are the correct length. I have not added any in-sole cushion.The price is what I pay for Nike or AVIA.(Correction 12/25/2013)--they are 20-dollars more.It really seems to be about my body weight.===I am still wearing these boots.(they are totally worn and still work very well for foot safety)I did buy a second pair and wore them about three times.(for a appointment)Excellent boot.

Nice fitting boot. Great in snow. Very waterproof & feet don't sweat. Feels good wearing all day. Good price for the product. Only gave 4 stars because it is not extremely pretty, but, overall would recommend & will enjoy the them.

I didn't have time to break the boots in, but it didn't matter. We only hiked 5 miles the next day, but no blisters! Love the style, fit, and they are so lightweight. The size fit exactly how I expected. I will be buying another pair.

These shoes were not very comfortable after wearing them for an afternoon while walking on trails. My feet were sweating a lot, and when I took them off, my socks were soaked. I have never had that problem with the Teva shoes that I own. I decided to order Teva Raith, and I threw the Columbia Cedar's in the garbage. I am sorry I bought them. Oh well..........

I had a big problem with my previous hiking shoes, so I carefully looked at this pair. The construction is very good and the fit is perfect for me. I've only worn them in mild weather, so I can't report on very hot weather comfort.I particularly like the lacing ease and the U-shaped top lace grabbers - they are secure but don't seem to tear up the laces.Bottom line - after about 20 miles of hiking, I'm very happy with these boots.

I have purchased basically the same style/manufacturer of shoe for the past 3 years on amazon. I like these shoes a lot but like I said the price keeps rising. They do change the name but it's the exact same shoe except for the color. The first pair I got was 39.99 the second pair was 45.00 and this pair was 69.99!! I have bought one pair every year so that's almost twice the price in just 3 years! That being said they are great shoes have lasted me a year for each pair (and I only wear/own 2 pairs of shoes at a time the old pair and the new pair) and even with the rise in price are still worth the cost. I just wanted to rant a little about the price but maybe Columbia realized what a great shoe they are and raised the price to reflect the quality. One other thing that makes them great. I drag my feet a lot and have had problems with separation at the soles of my shoes or wearing thru the soles. These shoes have held up very well with no issues with the soles whatsoever.

The boots are supportive, they look nice, and they are comfortable. I ordered a half size bigger than my normal shoes because hiking socks are pretty thick, so the fit turned out to be just what I wanted. And they are not too heavy and bulky. Very happy with my purchase. And the price was right

Got these boots for my 15 year old son who is just getting into hiking with his school. He has not wore these hiking yet. I will update later on that. He has worn them around the house. He says they feel like tennis shoes. I made him wear thick winter socks and they were still fine. I was thinking about ordering a pair for myself. Happy with delivery time. Arrived very quickly.
