Disclaimer: I own welders; but not this particular one. I am only posting this comment so that you are not discouraged from giving this tiny welder due consideration. As this welder was not currently available, I purchased another mini welder based on the video about this one having surprisingly good performance.

So it seems 250 amp = 1/2 250 ampOr 125 amps.
