Size small is very small on waist.
They come very small on the waist. I’m normally a 30 waist and I had to return a small and go for medium. Medium fits great on waist but is a bit longer than I’d like. Well made and confortable to ride in though so 4 stars👍🏼

4 stars as not yet worn these on the bike, so will update. Comfortable to wear and a good fit, although the medium say 32"-34", you'll not get into them if you are any more than a 32" waist (I'm a 32" and they are a perfect fit). Look well made, so time will tell on the trail if they last.Great price for what looks like a decent pair of shortsHaving worn these several times now, i'd recommend them. Great price, very comfortable and feel like they've been made to last

Have ordered the 34-36 pair to see if any better, if not
I have only tried them on, but found the 36-38 size too big for my 37 waist. By the time I put phone/wallet in pockets, they will be falling down. Have ordered the 34-36 pair to see if any better, if not, I will need to make the velcroed waist a bit smaller with some sewing.
