This may be a great product but it was not compatible with my ps5.

Does not work for ps5!

Overall this hard drive enclosure is a great buy. The convenience of having extra storage space in the already small amount included in the PS5 is a plus. The install location is great for anyone who does not want to open up their PS5 to install more storage. The enclosure will get hot but that is normal with these drive types. The only thing that you must know is that it is extremely important that you purchase thermal straps because there are non included in the box. Great buy.

I was finally able to get a drive put in this case and plug it up to my ps5. I left it plugged in (without anything on it) for some time and started noticing heat build up at the back of my ps5. What caught my attention was that the PS5 started losing internet connectivity constantly (with a wired connection). Note, the network plug is directly below the usb connectors (when vertical) and the entire area was extremely hot. Again, nothing was on the drive or running from it, my thought it that it was either pulling to much power or just flat out getting in the way of the vents on the back. I am still doing some testing to see if this is the case and will update the review if it turns out not to be the drive enclosure. Overall, the connectivity issues went away when I unplugged this product. It could also be related to the enclosure not including any thermal pads to but I wasn't running anything off the drive while testing this out. It could just be the placement of it or the power draw but it seems to negatively effect the nearby network port when used.

I misread this & thought it was actually an external hard drive. It is just a holder to plug into your ps5 for an external hard drive. I don't have the drive so I can't rate its functionality. The instructions are not great. Pictures would have helped. It does look cool.

I recently got an External Hard Drive Enclosure for my PS5 that plugs into the rear of the system. It supports NVME/SATA SSDs in sizes 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280 which is nice as you have several usable options. While it does the job of expanding my storage, I've noticed that it tends to run a hotter than expected during extended use. One downside is that this doesn't come with any thermal pads, which could have helped with heat dissipation. This omission is a bit disappointing, especially considering the importance of temperature management for the longevity of SSDs. the enclosure is easy to install, and the compatibility with various SSD sizes is a definite plus. Just be prepared to consider additional cooling solutions if you plan on using it extensively.

Very nice alloy case, secured with a screw and fit my drive. Working perfectly for my non-ps5 related project
