Very light weight and breathable material. There is a mesh lining on the inside of the hat that makes it much cooler to wear. Easy to carry and good for when working in the yard.

I docked a star for the missing strap. Without a strap, the large bill of the hat would catch the breeze, which was great for cooling the face, but resulted in my having to catch the hat before it flew off multiple times.Tried and proven effective through the mighty 5 Utah National parks in July. Hooottt... That large bill did a fantastic job of protecting my entire face, ears, neck and exposed upper chest (area above tank top) from the sun. The flap on the back provides excellent protection for the neck and upper back/collar area.Fabric helps with cooling while providing protection from the sun. The light color was cool and went well with almost any attire.

I got a hat with ribbon ties, NOT an under-the-chin cord, and it has a long flap of material hanging down in the back.It's definitely not the same as the one pictured and the one I ordered.I'm not returning it, because for less than $10 I can probably use it and/or give it to someone else. Still, be aware you may not get what you order!!

I'm a fair skinned red head so I purchased this to wear kayaking. Covered my face and neck just like I wanted it to. Not the most attractive hat but when you wear it you are wearing it for a purpose.

Cover my head...but a little tight...

It's fashionable and beautiful. It's cool and draughty in hot days. I try to wear it on my head. I feel comfortable. It can cover my face and prevent the sun from shining. There are also rope clasps on both sides of the hat to prevent it from falling off.
