Handy set - got me out of a hole
We have a Bristan bath shower mixer (1901). There was a leak between the main body and the pillars. Bristan said that the relevant seal was not available to buy and we'd need to order new pillars (~£95). I measured the aperture with calipers and used one of the washers from this set (30mm OD) to replace. Fixed and justified the cost of the set immediately. Would be better if we could still buy things like this for a few pence down the road, but those days are mostly gone (plumber's merchant was closed on weekend or I would have tried first as I do now for most things).
