Why did I wait?!
I've been playing slide for years, but have just started playing country stuff.I've put a bender on my Telecaster, but this thing is so much more fun.I did need to find a few YouTube videos to get a handle on some of the country tunings (C6, A6) beyond the G tunings I normally use. After that, the western swing licks just started falling out of it.Not ready to gig yet, but maybe in a few weeks. The pots and intonation seem fine and the legs are solid. The case is much nicer than I expected.Great value for the $$ and a great first lap slide IMO.

but I am comfortable and can accompany singes and solo on most country ...
I bought the ash model... I am not a real pro at playing slide.. but I am comfortable and can accompany singes and solo on most country pop songs... I love playing slide.. using the volume pedal to broaden the chord base .. and picking out solos... open tunings make this both a challenge and fun.. so I wanted a C6 tuned instrument to complement the other 2 D and G ones I have.. .. I loved the idea of the legs... and at this price.. what is this 20 or so cups of Starbucks.. so I will lay off the caffene for a bit.. :-)... The guitar is awesome .. forget the price.. it is plane fantastic. .. the legs are a bit tricky to put on as you have the get there right slant angle.. which is not easy... but not impossible as well... it sounds awesome.. the one piece slab of ash produces a great tone with sustain that even acoustically will keep playing .. you can hit the open strings go for a whiz and come back they will still be ringing.. and I am talking unplugged.. the pickup sounds good.. its a P90 so it has to hum a bit.. for those who mention the hum.. well P90 means single coil tone .. and the hum that goes with it.. should not expect anything different.. it sounds good.. the other hardware is good.. especially given the price.. I found that the color was a bit on the pale side.. and ending up putting some stain to it.. (right on top no sanding) and that actually worked well it has nice deep tone which brings out more of the nice grain the wood has. Like to play Slide.. BUY IT!!

Very impress, I stayed up all night the day I got it.
For the price you really get a good instrument. Very smooth and easy to play. I am a beginner to the steel guitar (but not to the guitar) and I found this instrument easy to play. The pickup is not great, it has a bit of a hum but not too much of a distraction. I ran this guitar through guitar rig (Native instrument) with a bit of chorus, delay and reverb with the tone of the instrument down a bit (not to get any humming from the pickup) and the sound is great. So now I am looking to play out with it and add this instrument to some of my recording. Again not a bad investment for a start that can be used for performance as well as recording. With an expression pedal connected to guitar rig you can simulate a pedal steel guitar.Guitar Rig (using acoustic sound bank, or a Credence Clearwater Revival reverb sound)and the FBV-Express MKII Foot Controller to accent the swells, slides and dips.

Excellent value, few complaints.
It's solid even in three legged stand mode, it sounds fine and plays fine. Really few complaints for the money. Definitely happy with the purchase. The complaints I have are :1. The legs are a PITA to align correctly and it's easy to strip/grind the threads.2. The bag, which is quite reasonable, was zipped over packing material and I had to re-set the zipper after opening.3. The tone knob is slightly bent or misalignedPotential upgrades:1. The strings are far too floppy in the tuning specified. I went straight to EAEAC#E (one whole step up on each string) and that was far better. You should replace the strings pretty shortly anyway.2. Tuners are a bit sloppy. They look standard though so should be easy enough to replace.3. The bridge looks standard as well. One of those Ibanez Gibraltar bridges might just drop right in.4. The P90 is fine so far... but I'll bet a TV Jones T90 or T-Armond would kill.

Pro Quality Instrument
Great value! The legs make it useful as a extra instrument for a guitar player on stage. Solidly built. Took a few days to settle in when tuned to C6, but holds a tune well after that. Versatile enough to handle any level of player. Would recommend highly.

Bad Pots
Initially, I liked the action and the sound. But I discovered that rolling off the highs with the tone control also reduced the volume to 0. I had to make major adjustments to the volume if I changed the tone at all. I emailed customer service. They said "The pots may be wired wrong, but they're cheap chuineese pots and new, good ones might solve everything." Yeah ... really. I was going to fix that, but I opened up the body cavity and it's tiny. No room to work or for better pots withoiut re-routing. So I returned it.

Great Deal, Great Guitar
What a surprise. $119 for all this? It comes in a really nice little case. everything beautifully packed and secure. The guitar is good solid piece of wood, with a pretty grain and a satin finish. The hardware is solid, the tuners are tight with no play, the pick up is pretty good - a little hum and maybe a little low on output but overall the sound is what you'd expect and probably want. My only complain is that the legs don't thread on that easily - the middle one really didn't want to go on. Frustrating and disappointing, but a minor quibble. The pickup hum can be controlled by moving the guitar in relation to the amp. I'm going to throw on some C6 strings. This thing will scream! It's excellent, unbeatable for the price, a professional instrument for $100. How cool is that?
