Worked really well

I used this to seam seal a tent. Very difficult to apply and doesn't result in a well presented job. Did some reading up and tried diluting with white spirit to improve flow into stitching, also to make application easier. It seems like a good, well adhering, flexible sealant... My struggle was in the application. Perhaps patience and a different technique is required.

Bought to repair a seam on a coat the had come apart at the stitches. Very easy to use with well explained instructions on the back of the card. Put a little glue where I needed it and spread it out with the supplied brush. After holding it in place for a minute or so the glue had already stuck the two sides together. Just had to leave for 24 hours to be fully cured. The seam is as strong if not stronger than it was originally and is once again fully waterproof. Initially feels a little bit too much money for the amount of glue you get but then after using it I would say it's worth it's weight in gold to keep an expensive coat in full working condition.

The velcro on my winter waterproof coat had come away from its stitching along the storm flaps. Renewed the velcro and attached it using this glue. It has done the job perfectly!. Theres no way that velcro is coming off! I would highly recommend it.

Got this to help waterproof our walking boots, my partner has used this on his and it has successfully sealed the cracks and crinkles in his boots, would buy again.

After the drawstring on a couple of my Goretex jackets came unstuck after washing, I enquired about professional repairs, and the estimated £30 per jacket seemed fine, but the 3 month wait wasn't, so I decided to try self repair. McNett appear to be the leaders in the field of garment repair, so I choose this product. The application of the product is relatively simple (wear disposable gloves), with the main issue being keeping the jacket flat and stable during application and drying. In the end I used washing clothes pegs to hold the seam together. I gave the glue 24hrs to cure before trying the seams. So far I have the seams have held, but only time and further washes will confirm that.

Habe mich nach vielem Lesen für diesen Nahtdichter entschieden. Die Aufgabe war, die Undichtigkeiten des Vorzeltes entlang der Naht bzw. dem innenseitig verklebten Nahtdichtband nachzudichten. Trotz äusserer Imprägnierung kam es immer wieder zu Undichtigkeiten entlang der Nähte, die sich auf viele kleine Stellen beschränkten, die mit dem bloßen Auge fast nicht zu erkennen waren. Doch Wasser sucht sich immer seinen Weg und dann hat man es im Vorzelt, wo es gerade nicht sein soll. Der Nahtdichter lässt sich mit der mitgelieferten Aufsteckbürste gut auftragen, mit einem Schulpinsel aber auch gut verarbeiten. Die Bürste sollte nach der Verwendung sofort gereinigt werden, denn das Dichtmittel setzt die Durchgänge und Borsten bei Nichtbenutzung schnell zu und die Bürste ist dann nicht mehr zu verwenden. Es empfiehlt sich Handschuhe und erforderlichenfalls einen Atemmaske zu tragen, denn die Lösungsmittel sind schon vom Geruch stark. Bitte die Gebrauchsanleitung beachten! Das Dichtmittel lässt sich gut verarbeiten und an die gewünschten Stellen bringen. Das Mittel kommt in etwa wie Flüssigklebstoff aus der Tube und lässt sich dann gut verstreichen. Man sollte darauf achten, das Mittel gleichmäßig aufzutragen und keine Stellen auszulassen. Das Mittel bildet dann einen homogenen Film. Ich habe einen ca. 1,5 cm breiten Streifen aufgetragen, das sollte reichen. Darauf achten, das keine anderen Teile/Gegenstände auf das noch flüssige Mittel kommen, denn das klebt recht schnell fest und kann beim Entfernen der anderen Teile/Gegenstände den Dichtmittelfilm durchbrechen. Das Mittel bindet innerhalb von 8 Stunden vollständig ab und bildet eine Art Gummischicht, durch die kein Wasser mehr dringen sollte. Mit der Tube habe ich ca. 15m Naht auf der Dachinnenseite meines Vorzeltes bearbeitet und mir noch eine zweite Tube nachbestellt, die ich zur Reserve und für den Einsatzfall mitnehme.
