It's big and well-made
This backpack isn't as big as one that uses a frame, but it's about as big of a frameless backpack as I have come across. It will hold lots of stuff, and has lots of compartments and pouches to do it.The pack is made of heavy-duty rip-stop woven nylon (as best I can tell), and is stitched together very well. The inside of the fabric has a heavy rubber-like waterproof layer. I don't see this pack falling apart anytime soon. There are lots of heavy-duty straps (with heavy-duty buckles) for strapping it all down tight. The hip-strap is nice and wide, and is very useful for taking the load off the shoulders. The shoulder straps are well-padded and comfortable, and have the arc that naturally brings the straps together toward the middle of your chest when you wear the pack. In addition, there is a strap between the shoulder straps for drawing them close together on your chest, which makes wearing a heavy pack much more comfortable. All of the many, many straps on this pack are adjustable. All of the zippers are heavy-duty, and all pockets have the double-zipper design, which is extremely versatile. I tend to close them with both zippers up at the top (and I think that you should too). The zippers all have paracord pulls for easier handling. The outside of the pack is covered with velcro strips for quickly attaching items that you have rigged with velcro - which I find to be very handy. There are also sewn loops all over the pack for tying (or preferably carabiner-clipping) additional items to the pack. There is a comfortable handle at the top for toting the pack with one hand. The various compartments include way to many pockets to specifically mention, but if you need one (or more) for a pencil - it's there. If you need one for your cellphone - it's there. If you need one for <you fill in the blank>, it's there. The hole at the top for the hose for your hydration bag is there. It's all there.I'm impressed by the heavy-gauge of the material used for the interior pockets. Sometime a manufacturer will skimp on that and use a light-weight fabric (or even a cheap plastic sheet) that will rip out much sooner than the rest of the pack. But not so with this pack. I think it'll stand up to some heavy use.And yes, it comes with an adjustable sleeve-type holster with velcro, and a magazine pouch with velcro, both of which can be attached to a large velcro patch inside one of the compartments. And yes, that is what first drew my eye to this pack. These two items could also be attached to the velcro on the outside of the pack, or to velcro on a tactical belt. Both the holster and the pouch have a snap on top to keep things where they should be.I like it a lot. Highly recommended.
