Mattress cover falling apart.
Although it does seem to be a fairly comfortable mattress, the cover is falling apart around the zipper and I have only washed it about ten times. She turns a bit while she is falling asleep, but there isn't any heavy wear around the area that is failing.

Great Product. Seems Comfortable
We just started using this for my son a few weeks ago. He transitioned to his crib from the rock and play fairly easily. I put the mattress on the floor and laid on it and found it to be comfortable. I sleep on a Temper Pedic so I'm pretty picky. I've only had to take the cover off once to wash it because my little guy had the flu but I found it easy to put back on. I just washed it on the gentle cycle and dried it on low heat. It went back on without a problem. My only complaint is when it first came there was a smell to it. However, after a week the smell was gone. My son is really a hot kid and he's never sweaty when I get him up from naps or get him up in the morning so I'd have to say that the breathability of the mattress really works. I will definitely buy on for the next baby.

Very strong smell is still there after two month
I received the mattress in the beginning of September and it's been out of package for almost two month. Unfortunately a strong glue like/ chemical smell never went away. My little one arrived a week ago and I can't use it because how strong it smells. I am contacting store for return/exchange as I am not sure what else can be done. The overall quality seems fine and delivery was on time. It's a shame that for this price you get something you can't really use for your baby.

What I expected
This mattress met my expectations. The only complaint I have is that is has a smell to it. I let it air out without the cover on it for several weeks but it still has a slight smell. I washed the cover and once I placed it back on the mattress and put the sheet on, the smell was not noticeable. My baby is not born yet, so I can't comment on how well a baby sleeps on it, but it appears to be soft and comfortable. Definitely better than the other mattresses we looked at in baby stores. My suggestion would be to purchase early to allow mattress to air out. Overall I believe this was a great purchase!

Great marketing, below average product
Love the look of this mattress and the kids sleep fine on it. However after 1.5 years of use the cover's zipper completely broke and can't be fixed without sending it back to Nook (which is a large undertaking as its a multi-step process which includes photos, original receipts etc and we obviously need the mattress on a day to day basis). The fabric has also pilled and is by no means liquid resistant either. I really wanted to love this mattress because I love the idea and look of it but after living with three of them I would not buy them again.

Strong smell, quality control issues, covers are a pain & wear out quickly...
I'm not thrilled about this mattress, for a variety of reasons. First of all, the mattress cover smells very strongly of something...almost a bleech-y smell, but I can't identify it. It has kept the smell through many washes, & I have a replacement cover that smells the exact same way. I'm talking about the cover of the mattress...not the sheets. The cover is supposed to be convenient, because they claim that you won't need to buy waterproof mats, since it's water resistant. This is not as convenient as one might think. If the child wets the bed, the cover absorbs the moisture, so it protects the core mattress underneath. But then you have to replace the entire cover...which means you'll either have to buy a replacement or 2, like I did...at $100+ each...or you'll have to keep your baby awake while you wash & dry it, & put it back on the mattress. Big pain, either way...since changing it alone is a LOT of work. It's not easy to slip the cover on and off...it's actually a struggle, & a huge pain if you're doing it in the middle of the night. The 1st cover that I had for it...the one that came with the mattress...wore out around the edges in about 6 months. At that point, my baby had only been sleeping on it for maybe 2.5 months, & whenever I washed it, I would do so on the delicate cycle. It developed holes in each corner, where stuffing was coming out of it...very dangerous. I contacted the company & told them that I felt it was unconscionable to have to buy a $100 cover every year, because it had worn out so quickly. They told me the result was not typical & they did send me a replacement, when I provided them with pictures & my receipt. But I wonder if it had been 12 months since I had purchased it, if they would have sent a replacement then. This mattress is a big expense for some people, like myself, & I had planned for it to last for years. Having to spend so much money on something that smells really strongly of chemicals, and that falls apart in less than a year, is just disheartening. Granted, the replacement cover has not developed the same issue, with the wearing in the corners. However, it is still a huge pain to have to change it & wash it all the time, & it does still have that strong smell to it. Plus, it just isn't holding up very well, & I wonder how much this mattress will really end up costing me, after a few years, if I have to keep buying $100 covers for it when they wear out. I would say it was worth it, if it really was as safe & non-toxic as they claim. But someone else had theirs tested, & claimed that it contained fire retardant chemicals...& when they contacted the company, they said that all man-made foam mattresses contained that chemical. So how can they claim that it's chemical free? Also, I wonder what that really strong smell is...I'm not the only one to have mentioned it in reviews. Not to mention the breathability factor: Some people have said that they can breathe right through it. I have not found this to be true at all. Maybe in comparison to a conventional mattress, it's more breathable? But I tried it just to see, & I was not able to breathe right through the mattress. I'm conflicted on this mattress, because I just am not educated enough about it to have a clear opinion on whether or not it is as safe as they claim. From my experiences alone, I would question their claims. And at the price, the quality control really should be a lot better. I did give it 3 stars, only because it does seem like a comfortable mattress, & aside from the cover issues, it has held up pretty well. No sagging or warping of any kind, after approximately 2 yrs of use. If I could afford it, I would buy a natural latex mattress instead...one without synthetics or additives of any kind. But they are very expensive, & also, if you are buying this for the breathability factor, then I don't know how well natural latex would compare in that regard. We are now having another baby, & trying to find a healthy mattress that won't break the bank...unfortunately, we probably won't be buying another Nook, unless we really can't find anything decent in our price range. If anyone has suggestions or alternatives, please comment on this & let me know!

AMAZING MATTRESS!
I am really impressed with the Nook Sleep Pebble Lite mattress. This mattress is lightweight with dual air layers which allow a child or adult who is laying face down to still be able to breath. We had highly rated mattress before and my son just couldn't get comfortable on the bed but once we got this he was able to sleep on it and still does! I did not find a chemical smell as others have mentioned and I have two of them.

Nice mattress, not water resistant, is it worth the price?
My daughter and son seem happy on their mattresses - but then, they're happy anywhere. The cover is absolutely not water resistant or water proof - as I've discovered multiple times while having to change the bed in the middle of the night. If your child dribbles, wets the bed, vomits or spills drinks (and what child doesn't?) you'll need a water-proof cover of some kind - and if that's the case, what's the point of the expensive breathable cover etc? With hindsight, I would probably buy a normal mattress, or cheaper organic mattress, and buy a good quality organic water resistant cover.
