Good SKX alternative
I was looking at getting an SKX, but as the price on those keeps rising, it gets harder to justify spending that money on a watch without hand winding. For the $225 you would spend on the SKX, you can get any number of microbrand watches with an NH35 movement and sapphire crystal. I have 2 watches with the 7S36 movement, and it's not a big deal if you wear the watch every day, but it's nice to be able to wind the watch you aren't wearing on a given day. Enter this model with the 4r35 movement, an updated 7s35 with hand winding and hacking. While looking through these models, I found this one with the silver face and really liked it.The watch itself looks even better in person than it does in this one picture, and the sunburst effect of the dial is more pronounced. The lume isn't as bright as it is on some of my other watches, but I attribute that to price point and the fact that the lumed areas are smaller than on something like the SKX. The watch face itself is very visible in low light due to the material of the dial. It seems like a large watch looking at the specs, but it wears well. It sits closer to the wrist than it's measured dimensions would indicate. The date window seems small in comparison to the rest of the watch, but is plenty visible. Seiko is known for poor quality bracelets in their 5 line, and this one is no exception. It looks nice, but it is very rattly and loose in it's joints, and has stamped end links that aren't a good match to the body of the watch. Not a big deal for me, as I don't wear any of my Seikos on the supplied strap, but worth noting. Honestly, if they would offer a version on their excellent silicone strap, I would choose that. It's major fault, and the reason I returned it is that the rotating bezel doesn't line up. It feels like it should be a 120 click bezel, and in some places in it's rotation it lines up fine... but not at the 12 o'clock. The bezel stops either 1/2 second before or after the 12 o'clock position. I thought I could live with it.. but I was wrong. I couldn't find a way to exchange this item for another, so I returned it. I will review the seller separately after the transaction is complete, and will order another one when the refund is finished for this one. Hopefully the next one is better.

Good Starter Automatic Seiko
The silver dial is eye catching. It looks more expensive than what it costs in my opinion. I tried researching it for reviews on the internet but there isn't much out there on this model. It is a big watch. The bracelet isn't too bad in my opinion and has some polishing near the center. End links are hollow, and clasp is stamped which is to be expected at this price. This watch is less popular than other well known Seiko models. I don't really care for the Seiko 5 logo on this watch (Seiko has since updated it). I replaced the hardlex crystal with a double domed sapphire with purple AR as my first watch modding project
