These are great, especially for the price, but you might get a bad one. I used this for a Vive Pro HMD to get rid of the built-in headphones and use an external set of headphones. The USB-C connector fit perfectly, but when I plugged in the headphones and adjusted the sound controls in Windows, I couldn't get any sound and the microphone on the headset showed no response on the meter. By wiggling the headphone and mic jack while in the connector, I started getting intermittent sound, and I could see that there is play in the case. It's not solid construction. Fortunately I bought two of them, because they are so cheap. The second one worked just fine, no problems with the mic or the headphones at all. So I'll be getting a replacement for the bad one, but they are so cheap it's not a big deal really. It's actually amazing to me that a profit can be made from this device at this price, because the cable isn't cheap, it has the tough braided sheath and there are electronics in the case including a pair of flashing red LEDs. The LEDs seem superfluous and silly, but whatever.

UPDATE 1/17/20: Today's Window's update destroyed the drivers.Please let me know if anyone else is having this issue.I am going to have to buy another one of these from a different manufacturer (probably the same manufacturer with a different name plate. but still) Maybe the cool blue one to match the headset, so when windows decides to kill the driver next update, I will at very least have one that doesn't look so out of place.___________________OLD REVIEW:100% exactly what it says it is and does what it says it does.Does it well, no noise, no cross feed, well isolated and simple plug n play no drivers needed.I use it on a Vive Pro headset to replace the stupid tinny crappy mic built into the headset that is pointed at your nostrils...It works great for that, a small strip of locking "Velcro" for an EZ-Pass and and plug it right on in, get a decent condenser mic from a headset and you're good to go.

this does exactly what I wanted. My headphones connected to my laptop sounded bad, while the Bluetooth ones was fine. I figured it was my headphone jack, it was. The sound is clear and crisp. I'm happy. My minus a star is because I have to unplug it if I want to use my speakers.The device feels good. Lights up a dim red to show it's on and working. The light isn't distracting. The color matches my laptop which is nice. Overall I'd highly recommend this item. Just don't lose it. It's small and could easily be misplaced when you unplug it.

It definitely works, but audio quality is very poor, even when using good quality electret condenser mics. I bout this hoping I could get some decent audio with external mics for podcasting and quick instrumental recordings. The built in phone mic is better sounding. I tried using electret capsilules from Sony, Olympus, and Rhode, and they all had a ton of noise, which is not typical of any of these.mics when put through even a barely passible preamp. I thought for sure that a direct A/D input would sound better than the phone's mic, but it doesn't.

This adapter bypasses the Pi's nasty sounding built-in audio chip. It contains a GeneralPlus 2008 chip that produces reasonable hi-fi analog stereo output. And with this there are no more pops, background hiss, or audio cutting out when I turn the volume up too high, as with the built-in analog audio. The line output level is a bit lower than expected, but usable.The current updated Raspbian recognizes it, and it works fine with PulseAudio analog stereo output. I haven't tried the mono microphone input. It appears to be mechanically well made. Shipping to Seattle took 8 days.

Edit- I received a new splitter to try and make an updated review. However, this splitter lasted even shorter than the other and I take good care of my electronics. There are clearly lose wires inside and cannot be fixed. Sadly my review stands.So this splitter worked for a week or so before dying. I noticed it makes the audio much more quiet in headphones more noticeable than other splitters used. I didn't mind too much but the problem is that the device broke just a week after getting it. I'm so disappointed because I thought I finally found something that works. It's been so hard to find one for the pixel 2. Seems like it is a wiring issue because the slightest giggle and it stops working. There is no way to keep the connection.

Works as intended. Fair quality materials, does not feel flimsy or robust. Light weight, so it is not pull down on the usb connector side. Makes it easier to connect to headset when usb port on PC is in a cramped location.

I bought this because I often have to use it for school to make videos. My headphone jack in my computer died a painful death and I didn't want to pay a bunch of money to repair it. I was told to by a product like this. When I bought, I thought it was the best... that was until a few weeks later. Now, I can't move my computer or my headphones without it saying I disconnected it. Basically you have to unplug and replug it back in to bring the sound back to the headphones and not on the computer speakers.Now I'm not saying I am a pro or expert, I just wished I knew this when I bought it. I thought I could stick through it, but as the time passed it just got worse. I now have to buy a new one.

Afin de palier a une carte mère dont la sortie audio à cramée (merçi Realtech *2eme fois!) j'ai opté pour cette mini carte son au lieu d'une carte interne bas de gamme. Pas de soucis! l'on branche et ça fonctionne. Le produit est de bonne qualité et le son est correct. ATTENTION a vérifier l'espace entre 2 connecteurs USB.

La partie usb s'insère mal dans l'ordinateur et bouge. Le son et la voix sont alors coupés. J'ai été obligé de trouver un système pour le fixer, plus ou moins correctement.Par contre, le son est très bon.

Très bien remplace mon ancienne carte son externe
