Follow the directions in the pamphlet that comes with it and the set-up is easy for viewing on your smart phone. Viewing on a computer away from home is a bit different. You need to go to whatismyip.com on your home computer and copy the IP address. Use it to log-in from another computer away from home. I also recommend setting a static IP for your home address. Use gmail SMTP port 587 and SSL for the e-mail settings along with smtp.gmail.com. Don't ask me why it works, but it does. You have to select "All" on the scheduler and motion detection (on) to get e-mails and uploads to FTP to work. 5 is a good sensitivity setting with 5 sec upload interval. I have a light on a timer in my living room that "tricks" the motion sensor into sending me too many upload photos. I fixed this by unselecting the times of day the light comes on. I keep an eye on the live feed during those times. About once a day the camera reboots itself and end up in the default position after it cycles but I just hit the Preset number I have set (named "call" on the home page) to get it back to the right position. Overall it works very well. I would buy this IP camera again.

The product itself is great. However, the CD it comes with and the instructions are beyond frustrating. In the instructions it tells you to install "Search tool" but the CD doesn't contain a file with that name. Through searching online, I found a way to manually determine the IP Address by looking in my wireless router settings and I also used a program called "ONVIF Device Manager". I would have called Wanscam but they do not have a toll free number, only a local Chinese number. All in all, not a bad product. I just wish there was more info. This product works great with Sighthound software to use as a security camera.

You won't be able to read license plates with it, however all the functions and usability of this camera I believe make up for the lack of picture quality. For the price if your looking to buy a very cheap WiFi camera and you have a little bit of technical know-how this is absolutely worth the buy. If you're looking for something with all of that AND good picture quality. Keep saving up and buy something in the higher price ranges.

Bought this several weeks ago, easy to set up and works great. 2nd day it was running caught the maintain man coming in my apartment he was there to check AC but it's nice to know who is coming on going. The cleaning lady feels uncomfortable with it on when she is their some so I leave a ball cap next to it when she is coming... she covers when she get there and uncovers it when she leave... beats unplugging and plugging back in... lol

Had to set up a file server to save images to my computer, still haven't figured out the motion detection part of the camera. MAs for getting video clips from the motion detection, still no luck. Guess I have to contact the manufacturer and figure out what I'm doing wrong. Instructions are somewhat difficult to understand. The instructions are not complete, not explaining the different options to select to record when motion is detected. Some buttons in the software are not explained as to what they do. I've been exploring other software options but haven't found anything worth using yet that is cost effective.

Pan and tilt worked for about 2 days. Night vision range and clarity are very bad.

My son had a similar camera which was purchased last year. When motion triggered the camera, it would send five consecutive photos to your smart phone. This camera is only sending one photo, which might not catch an intruder that just entered your house. I am going to continue to see if I can make any improved adjustments before giving up.

decent cam for the price. The UI is meh, and only works to it's full capability in IE, which is why I dropped a star. Otherwise it works as advertised.
