I got this phone because my old one merely saw some water and it stopped working so I wanted a rugged phone, which it is. Very durable.Now the downsides.The camera it atrocious. In my work I had to take photos but my manager made me use hers because the camera quality was so much better.You can't use head phones because when you plug the jack for headphones in, it just pops right out again.I've now had the phone for 3/4 of a year and every so often it is unable to play sound and I must hold it inn a certain place to make it work.All in all I do dislike the phone but just like the other person who left a 3 Star review, I've stopped taking pictures because of the poor quality and I no longer listen to the music I have, which is a shame because I've over 36 hours of music on my memory card.

After un-boxing I looked for a setup guide but instead I found the “quick start guide” booklet. Which only tells you what main apps are available but not how to use them. On the back a panel with two silver screws that looked like it should be removed. As I was removing the screws the phone came on after a touch on the standby button, so I assume it was in standby and not off. It normally takes about a three second press to start from off. Inside the panel are two sim slots with the micro memory card slot in between, The memory card went in easy first time but the number one slot sim was not recognised as being present by the phone because the metal clip wasn’t putting enough pressure to make good sim contact. I moved the sim to the number two slot and re-booted the phone it then recognised a sim was fitted and everything set up step by step in ten minutes. As far as the phone signal and reception while in conversation, it’s equal to my Experia with both on the same network provider. Mine came with the earpiece volume set very low but after adjustment to the menu system settings it can be heard ten feet away. The camera picture results were a bit out of focus and the white balance wasn’t good in bright sunlight. It seems that every setting has to be adjusted to get reasonable results. Compared with my Experia I never had to adjust anything it all worked fine straight out of the box.This Cubot is capable of withstanding so much handling that would kill my Sony in ten seconds flat. For the price I paid if KingKong is as claimed it will do the job I need it to do.Oh one last observation battery wise it was at ten percent when I started to use it and an hour later it was at four percent. Using its charger it’s already taken four and half hours and it’s up to seventy nine percent of full charge. I hope after a few recharge cycles the charge time is lower.UPDATE I have just had the phone go into a continual startup fault with the screen flashing on and off, the only way I could stop it was press and hold “start up and volume buttons” together. I think that caused a manual reboot and cleared the cash. I f it happens again I will do the buttons thing again.

Good rugged phone, this was brought for me as my company phone it’s having compatibility issues in recognising my works server, I am having having to contact China for support, cannot find any technical support centre in the uk, there is inherent language barrier so the Chinese support advisers recommend communication via email which can be very long drawn out and tedious not to mention time consuming, phone as it stands is very fast in response some good features I have yet to get to use it before I can offer full opinion.

I bought thos Cubot King Kong to use it while I'm riding my bike in the mountains. Knows everything what I need just like a regular Android smartphone make a call, take picture, using as a torch (very bright), long life battery etc. And the best feature what made me to chose this phone: totally waterproof, dust and sock proof.There is not much to say about how to use this phone, I’m sure everybody these days are very familiar with an android-based Phone. Comes with preinstalled Android 7.0 which takes only 40-50 seconds to boot up. After you settled up the Wi-Fi connection, just log in with your Google account and then Use Google Play Store to download the Apps you required and update them. A few Apps came already installed on the phone. You can really feel the 2GB RAM works smooth, not sluggish, the touch screen responds straight when you touch it. There is also 16GB internal storage, but if that is not enough for you, it can be extended with eternal microSD memory card. I’m really happy with the quality of the 5 inche display, actually I was really surprised how bright, you can easily use it even outside in a sunny day. Really enjoyable to play on it and also to watch movies, nice bright colors and brilliant contrast. The resolution is 1440 x 720. Usual communication features fitted: 802.11b/g/n Wireless 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and 4.0 Bluetooth. Let’s talk about the weakness parts too. There is a built in speakers on the bottom side, but the sound quality is not the best I recommend to use a headphone. Featured with a 4400 mAh battery which gives you a day power. The 8.0MP front and the double rear camera with 13MP and 5PM it’s awesome, very rare for a low cost chines phone to be featured with double rear camera. Probably my favorite feature is the double sim slot one for a micro and one for a Nano sim.All the buttons on the side are steady and well fitted there is no gaps between the buttons and the housing. So absolutely water drops and dust proof.In overall this is a really good smartphone, knows everything what the other competitor phones knows. The price is just over £100, so even if I’ll lose this one, as I did with my previous phone, will not hurt me that much.I would recommend for people who needs a cheap durable phone instead of using an expensive smartphone in example in extreme weather condition or if you working in a dirty working environment like construction etc.
