IPS IP SMART Pleatco Cartridge Filter PA120 120sqft Hayward Star Clear Plus C1200 CX1200RE C-8412 w/ 1x Filter Wash

I bought these filters as a replacement for the CX1200RE filters my Hayward Star Clear Plus Cartridge Filter Model C12002 requires. I was very nervous about buying aftermarket filters but I did a ton of research and consulted with a few local pool professionals and they all had rave reviews of Pleatco filters. Pleatco is a premier filter cartridge manufacture who is highly respected in the industry so I decided to try them for myself. Their filters are as good as or better than OEM filters and often found at a greatly reduced cost. Who doesn’t love to save money? Better quality at a reduced cost...SOLD!These filters arrived and I was a little nervous about exactly what filter I’d be getting. The description on Amazon said Reemay filters but I saw on the Pleatco website they were shipping point-bonded polyester filters which are far superior. Point-bonded polyester feels like textured cloth and has more fibers for a more advanced filtration. Reemay feels like paper and doesn’t have the same quality or texture. The point-bonded filters capture more dirt and debris and do so in a more uniform manner. The 4 super bonded bands on these filters are mounted really well and keep the filter fanned open perfectly to help capture media and also help when cleaning the filters. Pleatco uses 4oz of filter media which is the highest count of any cartridge on the market.The blue antimicrobial end caps are very well made and fit nice and snug and perfectly inside my C12002. They have molded open core slots in the center pvc structure for more flow. Some aftermarket filters have drilled holes in the PVC which are much smaller and flow far less.Overall, I’m extremely happy with my purchase and very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of these Pleatco Advanced filters. I will never waste my money on OEM filters ever again. These were around $40 less than OEM filters for my model so nearly 40% more money stayed in my pocket. Plus I got a packet of Pleatco Filter Wash included and it was the same price as the filter was without the filter wash. I can’t think of a single thing to complain about. OMG!!! AMAZING, so the husband purchased a filter from local pool store, after all the measurements we received our filter 3 weeks later and to small. 160 dollars for the wrong size wasn't going to work for me. I found this filter on Amazon verified the dimensions and made my purchase. Purchased may 1, shipped may 2 received may 7..... Amazing. Correct size, placed in my housing, vacuumed the pool and let run still a lot of pressure. I will buy more for back up. Very pleased. Got for my 11k gal above ground pool

You know the store I'm talking about. Pool man told me to check on line for my filters that I was paying nearly $200 for. Made me sick and a little angry at the same time to see how I had been ripped off for years. Same quality, name brand filters if not better. And delivered to my door.

It's a great value, at least $30.00 cheaper than any I could find at our local pool supply stores. I like to have 2 filters at one time so after discarding my old ones I purchased my second filter from this company. to back up my first one. It does a wonderful job and I highly recommend it.

I was a bit skeptical to move away from the OE Hayward filter. Due to availability/delivery time the last time I ordered I ended up with the Pleatco. It has worked fine. I would say it's not quite a durable as the Hayward and I have to be a little more careful when cleaning but it has not been an issue. The pool seems to remain happy. I just ordered and installed my second Pleatco filter after running the first one about 6 months.

Seems to be doing its job...only scare is the the rings are coming unglued. Don't think it will effect it's performance though.

The material of this filter is very different from the filters I have used. This filter is 10 times easier to clean and seems to do a great job. The only reason for my 4 stars is when I pulled it out to clean it one time only the bottom 3 inches were dirty. I dont know why but it seems to be working great now. 4 stars leaning torward 5

This filter cleans up easily and cleaning once a month will last a full year, great product at a great price.
