It worked - I hope
I got these snake repellent balls because I noticed one in my yard the other day. Used these and havent seen any since. Its very difficult to say if its because of these or they just ran out of "meal" on my yard or something else is causing them to stay away. But whatever it is, I am happy I am not seeing snakes in my yard. Totally worth a try IMO

This doesn't work
Put them out , smelled the place up , watched a 3 foot snake slither over 5 of these and then stop on the 6th one and coil up

We’ll see
With all the California fires, the snakes are coming lower and we have a lot of rattlesnakes. My dog lost his eye to a rattlesnake so we have these balls everywhere that a snake would like to hide so far no more rattlesnakes we’ll see it’s been about a month.

I’m not convinced these work? Read why….
Less than two weeks ago I placed a whole box (36) of these pellets around our property because we have a dog that has recently been bitten by rattlesnakes two different times. When I went outside around dusk this evening heard the distinctive rattle they make when threatened. This one was angrily coiled inside that cubbyhole sitting directly on top of one of those snake repellent socks and yes, the plastic wrap was removed from the mothball pellet.I killed it with my shovel down in that spot to remove the threat from us, our neighbors and the pets we have in the yard. Now the instructions clearly state to place them 6’ apart and this enclosed spot is approximately 22 to 26 inches square at best. You can’t see the white pellet in this picture becauseI was more focused on this 3’ rattlers’ movement than taking a picture at the time because it was quite the scuffle to keep it away from me before I could finish the job. So…even though these repellent pellets are packaged very well and seem to be very good quality I can’t really put much faith in them at all, at least for south Texas rattlesnakes?!

Pretty much the standard form of these, bit pricey
I will be the first to admit there isn't much evidence these do anything. You can find people for and against them with "proof" supporting their side. To me, since in the past I have had a few rattlesnakes in my backyard, it's worth the little bit of money to try to make a difference. I will say, I usually find a snake or to in my yard in the fall, I put some of these out last year and I didn't. Coincidence? Maybe, but as I just said, I will be doing it again. One thing I did notice though, I would occasionally find one of the little bags somewhere else in the yard that I know I didn't put it. Maybe it blew there? Maybe it washed from the rain there? Or maybe a critter moved it? I don't know. I didn't fasten them down. I just put the balls in the little bags and then through them around the corners of my lawn and along the fence line. I do think these are a bit pricey since its almost a $1 per ball and they are small and don't last long.
