Gives my chickens the boast they need in this heat we have where I live. Will definitely buy again!

We've had extremely high temperatures since early June and this is our first year with backyard chickens.I purchased some of the SAV-A-CHICK strips from a local store after learning that you shouldn't add vinegar to their water during extreme heat because it can reduce their ability to absorb calcium.I've been adding a quarter tsp to their drinking water each day this summer unless we're experiencing cooler temperatures.Very economical solution. Much cheaper than purchasing the product I was using before finding this one.With only 6 hens, a 4 oz bag of this will last a long time. They have a 2 gallon water bucket with 4 horizontal nipples, but I only mix about a gallon of water in it and add ice cubes and frozen bottles of water to keep it cool longer. Fresh water each day and most days I add ice and a new bottle of frozen water in the late afternoon. Once the temperatures cool down I'll just add apple cider vinegar to their daily bucket of water.This economical powder dissolves very easily and is keeping my chickens healthy during their first, extremely hot summer.

This is a great supplement for our chickens and the price is reasonable. That being said it can be a pain as the product gets rock hard in the glass jar we put it into so that it stays dry and powdery right? I sometimes wish it was in some kind of pill form but I suppose that might have drawbacks as well. We did find however that a small net bag of rice 15-20 kernels in a 12 oz. tupperware like container with a little measuring spoon seems to help the most. If anyone has a better cheaper way let me know.

Our chickens and geese seem to tolerate the heat better when I add this to their water. They are foraging better and for longer periods even when it’s super hot out. Normally they hide all day I the shade so I’d have to say this really helps hydrate them properly so they can graze more.

I now use this in my chicks water for the first 2 weeks then add to water 2x a month. I had 60 chicks and didn’t lose one this year. I found this supplement to greatly increase the health of my baby chicks

When we got into unusually hot 100 degree weather my chicken wasn't doing well. I started her on this and also put ice in her water dish several times a day and I'm certain that saved her life. I just mix a quarter tsp in her water tub morning and night.
